    When you cut off the pins on the shift tower that retain the shifter, and drilled them out did you replace them with split roll pins? I bought the shift tower rebuild kit from Novak and saw there were two larger split roll pins it and assumed that’s what they were for?

    This was not the best way to do this take the front head lights only 4bolts in them bend a 7/8 wrench to slide in hole . dont have to take out back seat just move jack and bolts are under it with a black rubber cap. Need two people its a tough job and i went with s&b lifetime American made not hard polyurethane China made bushings with 30 day warranty and my truck rides better today than when i bough it new

    I just rebuilt mine and 2nd gear is hard to get into and sometimes binds the whole transmission up. Goes into 1st but slides tight the whole way in. Synchro worked fine before I tore it apart. Any ideas

    • @robstuckey
      @robstuckey 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you shifting the box out of the truck or installed in the truck? Sounds like your endplay may be too tight. If it’s in the truck and shifted fine out of the truck, your clutch may not releasing fully. This could be bent fingers (too much weight hanging on clutch during trans install) or a clutch slave cylinder that isn’t fully bled. Bleeding slave cylinders is a really difficult job. Ask me how I know 😅

    Did nobody see the double block on top of the jack? That spelled death trap! And then you was yankin all over the mount with the cab lifted on two wobbly blocks.. Oh my lord! I cringed in fear.. Then you take bolts and caps off and just toss them whenever lol.. You sis say this was step by step in the title, but this was as far from step by step as humanly possible.. You better have thank God for sparing ur life while working hand and hand with all that danger..

    • @americanmade8145
      @americanmade8145 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He only jacked the body off the frame, so if jack or blocks failed the body would have just fallin back onto frame, not much danger of death from that.

    Surprised that engine doesn't have head studs. I wouldn't doubt the heads have lifted already and sat back down. Don't pull anything heavy with it or put a tuner on it or you'll be joining the huge percentage of owners who end up putting head gaskets and other various parts on this truck. Always sad to me to see cars and trucks in a parts yard because I've never sent a vehicle to one. Everything is repairable as long as you don't wrap the frame around a pole.
