Commonwealth Games Closing Fireworks
The Commonwealth Games were a lovely event for Melbourne: tourists, sporting events, concerts, art shows, river displays - a great couple of weeks.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground was the epicentre: this fine ground has hosted Olympics in two centuries, FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, it is the birthplace of Test Cricket, the birthplace of (Aussie Rules) AFL footy, the location of countless football finals, concerts, comings together and celebrations of humanity.
And on this ground we said goodbye to the Commonwealth Games.
