In the tutorial I show you how to make a simple wire wrapped ring using a single gemstone and easy wire wrapping techniques.
Nice design! The loops and hook part should be hammered with a rawhide or nylon hammer for strength especially if using 20g dead soft vs. 18g which I often do because it's easier to manipulate.
Nice idea❤
I find it interesting that the gemstone isnt even threaded on the wire!! you made a little bail basically
Love pearls. Very nice.
This is very clever! Love it!
Pop it on dontyou mean place it on the stone you Brits talk funny.😂
brilliant! thank you ❤
Where can I purchase the easy knot
www.myjewellerydesigns.com/
I love the projects you make. For me however, it seems like you talk too much.😢. I would rather you get on with it.
Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry if you think I talk too much but I feel it is important to give as much information as possible. Maybe if you're more experienced and don't need the same level of info as a beginner you could watch with the sound off.
I found the directions very helpful.
I absolutely love the steel shots, showing what it will look like when you do that step. Brilliant! That really helps to know ahead of it time what it’s supposed to look like. Well done!
Very nice and easy for me because I’m a beginner 💕
Beautiful!!
Thank you Janet for this clear and wonderful tutorial. I love the clasp and will practice making it. 💗💗
thank you... so beautiful 😊
❤
Love this, going to try, what size gemstone ?
I would say any size upto 6mm would work well, if you want to use larger think about using a thicker gauge wire.
1 mil is what in gauge
I think it's 18 guage.
Thank you so much. I love the clasp. And your instructions were clear and easy to follow. ❤
Brilliant! 🙌👏
Awesome ❤ thank you 😊
Lovely finding and well explained! Thanks for share!❤️
GENIUS❣️❣️❣️
Thanks so much the clasps are beautiful 😍
Is this dead soft wire? Half hard? Round?
You would need to use a hard wire as the clasp needs strength and hold its structure. I used round wire as it hugs the gemstone nicely x hope that helps x
Your demo hoops are awesome. Thank you for your creativity.
Awesome look for unique clasps! ❤
Gorgeous
Well, third time's a charm! Perseverance paid off in this instance. Turns out I was using 18g wire instead of 20! And then this time I used a little less glue - and so far, so good!!
I am soooo disappointed. I was so excited to find this tutorial, but it was a huge failure. The component came out perfectly but no matter what glue I tried on my amethyst oval cabochon it slid off as soon as I released it. I sat and held it for a few minutes and it still slid when I took my fingers off it. I tried two different glues - GS Hypo and Gorilla Glue - and the results were the same each time. I now have two ruined cabachons. What am I doing wrong?
Maybe your using too much glue ? The only thing I can think to do is putting a small amount of glue on the wire and on the cabochon wait for them to dry a little so they are tacky and then put them together that way they shouldn't slide off. Hope this helps x
Very cute and feminine, love these 😊
Thank you 😊❤
❤❤so beautiful
Un grand merci, pour ce partage !
Wow, I had never thought of this. Beautiful!
wow I have never had a glued on one last more than about 4-6 months before popping off, so passing that on to a friend or customer seems wrong so I no longer do them that way, but they do look very lovely.. to each his own.
Thank you... now I'm willing to make a pearl bracelet
Thank you so much. I love this clasp. It make a nice finished look on the necklace. Would you be able to use that on a bracelet?
Yes you absolutely can use for a bracelet but maybe make it slightly smaller x I'm glad you like the clasp x
I love that Jan, think I’ll try this technique to make a station necklace x
I have similar pearl bracelet to repair, thanks for helpful tips
Glad it was helpful!
So cool.
Very interesting process.
OMG! How stinkin' cute is that? I just adore this, thank you so, so much!
Janet, I've been around the block a time or two and I have yet to see such a wonderfully thorough, low-anxiety tutorial about creating a wire bail! Seriously, even I could do this. Perfect explanation, demonstration. Thank you so, so much! I am a glass artist and make a lot of glass cabochons and often I want something that is beautiful, light-weight and not too fiddly! Thanks again! ❣
Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you found the tutorial useful x I always worry I either don't give enough explanation or waffle too much so your feedback means a lot to me x
I enjoyed your tutorial thanks for sharing
I just followed along with you and it was fun. My only concern is if the bracelet or necklace is tugged on a bit the gemstone could pop out with wear and tear. I wonder if there is a way to secure the bead while caged? Does anyone know? Angel from The Bay
I have used these clasps personally for a long time and not had this issue x I would suggest using the thickest wire you can manage for extra strength if you are worried x
Very Beautiful❤❤
Perfect! Just what I needed. Your instructions are so easy to follow.
Excellent presentation
You're an excellent teacher, thank you!❤
Just found your channel, and just starting to think about getting into this....looks like something even a beginner could try, and quite lovely, thank you!❤
