Hopefully your side trim stays on, mine keeps coming off, going to replace it with edge protectors. Love the stripes and decals!
@@TheColinf1 they was tight fit over the spot welds on the sill so hopefully stay on lol. Yeah I was unsure about putting decals on but glad I did
Best to fit the boot lid hinges before the rear bumper
Sorry if I might missed it, but is this smoke grey? Looks stunning!!!

@@Ant-Long Thank You!
Great clip there" What is with the two huge holes that have been cut out on the parcel shelf, ?
@@davehodges6258 it had old speakers in so I’ve bought some new ones
Looking good 👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
After watching this , I think I will have to get someone to fit mine . I bought it without a headlining in ,got no garage to work in . Didn’t realise the windows have to come out . Well done to you for your work👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌
@@clivemillington8452 thanks. I think you would be fine doing it. The longest thing would be waiting for the glue to dry before fitting windows
Did you paint that with 2k paint ?
@@martinparsons1354 yes direct gloss
@Ant-Long what mask did you use for 2k,
@@martinparsons1354 this one from Amazon £20. Nothing special but worked perfect. 3M Maintenance Free Half Mask 4251+, Reusable Respirator, FFA1P2 R D Filters, Multicoloured, One Size
Dont know if you are aware but black and silver numberplates are only allowed upto 31st dec 1979 as your mini is post 1st jan 1980 its illegal to carry those style of plates
@@austinmatthews347what even if it’s over 44 years old and tax and test exempt?
@@Ant-Long thats not relevent if you check dvla it tells you the law cars registered from 1st jan 1980 and after must all have the yellow rear and white front with black letters and numbers
@@austinmatthews347 you are right mine is 1981. I looked at the wrong logbook as I’ve just sorted my dads logbook to tax exempt 🤦🏼♂️

I wonder why the new headlamp buckets needed fresh holes drilled? Unfortunately..
@@philtucker1224 these was Land Rover defender buckets as the mini ones was rotten. So I saved a few quid using them
@@Ant-Long Yes good shout buddy 👍
I did mine in Jaguar Claret with a Ford Silver Fox roof. ( in 1971) 🇬🇧👌
Minis, one of the few cars you can almost fully respray- without moving your feet!
Paint them holes but love the progress
@@RustonEngineering85 do you mean the wheel arch holes?

Well done, by the way
Hey, where's part 7 ??? You needed to show the bodywork before spraying
@@jimjimjimmyjimok should be Friday night the next video

It's really good to look at your back, can't you move the camera to a better position so we can see what you're doing??
@@nickforder8202 to late I’ve already welded it
Good work 👍 in a small confine👏👏
How can people work in hoodies and in a workshop that's like a rubbish tip !!
Workshop? It’s a small garage that only just fits a mini in 😂. I’ve Probably got a hoodie on so don’t burn my arms and head welding.
after market body parts for Mini were always bad fit
Looking solid again 👍
More chance of starting that with a new HP7 battery than that run down one. Also sounds like no spark.
It had a spark and new battery but still slow turning over even with the jump leads. It’s that rotten it’s probably got a bad earth 😂
It makes a nice change to see a restoration on a Mini that's not a Cooper or a late Rover one. I used to have one! Way back in the golden era known as the '90s! It was a very late-production mk4 Mini. My Mini, A424GHF, was a 'luxury' Mayfair in metallic Opaline Green with the optional Exacton alloys (remember those super-wide 10-inchers?) I was very fond of it and still having fun in it, long after the bodywork and underside started to eat itself. I took it to 14 years old and 94000 miles when its last-ever MOT tester told me it won't be going anywhere.😢 I thought it lasted a very long time for a used-in all-weathers-daily Mini.
The mk4 Minis were the most properly-built out of all the Minis. Black was a very rare colour on Minis in the early '80s so I think your car is well worth restoring and making nice again.
i went there today there was a lot of nice classics
😎👍
Nice Mini. It looks like a fun car to work on. A-Series engines are very economical and nippy. Just watch out for oil leaks and keep the SU carb dashpot topped up with 3-in-1 oil.
Nice job pal, I used to love the old Minis back in the day
The worse it is, the less you have to weld to!
Hope you never paid more than 50 quid 😮
Good luck with that it looks fucked
My god . Where do you start ,when first looking at this rust bucket .😂😂
Boot was definitely the worst part 😂 well until I get the wire wheel on it
Enjoying this project ,keep em coming. 👍👍
My god ,you have bought a bit of a money pit there ,getting near to finish mine , but nowhere as bad as yours . Will be watching with interest . Best of luck with this , . What sort of timescale do you envisage with the rebuild ? 👍👍
Yes it’s looking a little bad at the moment lol. I’ll be cracking on with the boot area this weekend I’m hoping to have it on the road by the winter 🤞🏼
nice sliders
Looks solid 😂😂😂
😂
Seen that for sale on facebook marketplace near me
Nice to see an old Mk4, It is a welcome change from all the Rovers on You tube :)
love the widened rims and the hubcaps and the restomod engine and no doubt gearbox
Good selection of cars. Thanks for the video.
I actually saw your car when I was walking round ; thought it looked immaculate
looks great pal
You've got to love a classic Ford! Good video!
