I HATE THIS PROGRAM

This is great! Except the video doesn’t explain at all how to enable the feature. After an hour of looking and trying to use the help index I eventually found it. It’s in Tools tab, Options, NC Defaults, Operation Manager. It is the check box that says “Show Time with Operation Name”. Really cool feature but not everyone is a power user and knows what settings affect what in the program.

Love to know why there's no peck option in the groove section. Impossible to use surfcam for grooving on plastic.

Which version is this? I just started a new job and need to learn Surfcam. I believe they have version 2017 R2 but it does not look anything like this. This looks much easier to use. Thanks

So no more truemill? And currently pocket rough decides to plow the first pass right across the pocket. Whereas truemill would helical then trochoidal

Two problems with Surfcam, no solid modelling, and no dynamic zero points at 4 or 5 axis machining.. But the rest is very good. I have used Surfcam since 1998.

traditional also doesn't seem very modeling friendly is there a reason for this or just bad insttuction from the suppliers class

with surfcam traditional can you create chains and individual sections of geometry with separate tool paths for each individual entity have been told by a "surfcam" supplier this is not possible to use like solid cam could do making blocks and controlling what I want my tool to do we currently have 2016 traditional

This a very good presentation. Nicely paced and easy to follow. Looks like this tutorial would be great for EdgeCAM and SurfCAM users. ;)

Hi SurfCam, could you please expand the tutorials for the NC>Lathe section starting from empty parts? These tutorials assume that I know how to setup your sketch, but even when I setup the sketch, I am unable to produce the same results of this video. I assume you are using different layers or have a way to establish stock differently. Please add more tutorials. The best one I found was the GetStarted.pdf

SolidWorks Instance creation fails error...Now what?

I am practicing with surfcam and would like to know if there is a way to choose all entities and create a bounding box--for the purpose of then drawing a line corner to corner and moving the geometry to center. In other programs its called "create bounding box--then you window in everything on the screen and an instant wireframe. I do not mean drawing a box that represents the stock--i mean choose all entities and draws the box exactly touching the extremes
