I don't know if there are any specific tips or advices for beginners but I think these are the basics: - Don't stat spread, at the start of a run you must decide your build and strategy, if you choose a brutality build then try your best to obtain as many brutality stats as possible, also remember to collect all the scrolls available in a level. If the rng doesn't favor you and give you a dual scroll that doesn't match your color then pick the one that benefits your build more (for example, if your brutality build contains really solid purple skill that is likely to stick with you for a while and the game grants you a survival/tactics scroll, choose tactics) otherwise pick the one with higher hp addition. - Learn parrying with a shield. While dodging is the most common way to evade enemies' attacks, parrying's the most viable option since dodging is quite delayed but parrying isn't, that's why shields could get you out of many unwanted scenarios which can't be avoided by dodging. - Learn the combos to exploit to your builds' full potential, this requires game knowledge so you might consider taking a look at the game's wiki page. These combos are usually based on the weapon's crit condition, affixes, skills and mutations. For instance, "Sadist Stilleto" - a melee dagger that crits if the enemy is bleeding or poisoned, when combined with Open Wounds"- a mutation that allows you to inflict bleeding with melee strikes, forms a consistent synergy, being able to carry you through 2-3 levels without too much reliance on rng. However, it isn't always the weapon's crit condition that matters, you can find a random sword with "+60% on bleeding targets" affix and "Open Wounds" would still be a decent mutation choice. As long as the elements are synergic, your combo is fine. If you've studied all the synergies, the game will be a walk in the park. - Play more, practice makes perfect, you will get used to the game's mechanics and stuffs the more you play.

Congrats of beating Concierge! Also something really important is to maximize one type of scroll: The damage boost is exponential and it's necessary if you want to have decent damage in later levels. Just choose what scroll you want to use at the start of the run and stick to weapons with that color. Shields are an exception because they are for defense and not offense, you can parry with them
