I saw a bunch of ginormous ones at the Huntington botanical garden a little while back. So many flowers!
beautiful Fruits such an instrestimg looking cactus 😮❤
Hi, when you prepare the water with citric acid do you also add the fertilizer? Thanks
Yes, we add the fertilizer and Cittic acid at the same time. We also have a product feature on the fertilizer we use.
They're great. I don't know about crowd pleaser but they please me :) I hope you DO get them trending!
I would recommend using more than one PH tester. I use 2 testers and average them together as long as they are not off by more than 1PH. If the difference is greater than that I use a third tester to see which one is bad.
Ok, question... what products do you use to make water more acid or alkaline? I heard citric acid? Thanks!
One of our other Product reviews is about the citric acid that we use.
Very entertaining and educational at the same time. Cactus Heaven!
Isn't it just easier to use a electronic pH tester and I can also tell you the PPM readings
Why not just measure the pH with a meter and know exactly what it is?
No meter is perfect, I have 3 different brands and they usually off between .5-1 from each other.
Fish tank water test are really good. I use the same stuff, just a different brand. You can even use it to measure soil pH - you just need to mix a sample of soil with water and let it macerate for 24h, then measure the pH of that water (at that point it should be clarified).
Ph 5 is fine as well that's what Elton Robert's uses
Ребята какие ви молодци мечтаю купить у вас семена.Привет вам с України.Люблю вас
Thanks for sharing another tip. I normally use pH 6.3 and all my species grow quite quickly, even the slowest ones 😊 Nice evening for both🌵🏜
If you were closer to me, I would work for free and that would be 7 days a week. A lot of hours.
In my area in sort of north Texas, there is a lot of lime rock. A little south and west has Juniper Trees and lime rock is everywhere The Echinocereus grow wild in it. They will find holes in the lime rock with Juniper needles composted and the really bloom.
Wow succulent/cacti collections... 🤩😍🥰❤❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed the tour!
@mesagarden2285 so much it's a visual feast just luv the collections... "SANA ALL" 🤩🥰😍❤❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
That is my favorite waterbreaker to water everything from seedlings to big plants in pots, without beating the delicate plants up as you say!
How do they taste?
Wonderful plants and flowers. 👍💚
I have to congratulate you both and everyone is working there on polonizing all these species and maintain the entire nursery, it's hard hard work 💪🌵 Thank you for continuing with all the collection and continuing to spread it all over the world 💚😎🤙🌵
Which have the best scents? Would love to search your site with a fragrant tag!
Do you have the catalog number of the big gray longum(?) with the angled windows at 21:50? The ones around the blue paintbrush? I've never seen anything like them and I love them! This video also made me a fan of the hanae. Such beautiful flowers!
Love the plants in video, big question is how do you get the lythops to bloom? Have had for a year, they are tall but no flowers yet Dot
Beautiful ❤ Do you ship to Europe?
We unfortunately do not ship plants out of the US at this time.
Love the long walk-throughs, keep 'em coming! My C. maughanii have done exceedingly well and fast growing, faster than any of my other conos. Argyroderma dalaetii take the top spot though for my mesemb's germ and growth, on their third shed in under a year. Always get excited for those mesemb bonus packs when an order comes in!
Me encantaría trabajar en lo que ustedes hacen es maravilloso 👏
yes, love this! That's the life, thanks! Bees & Butterflies to help save your back . . . perhaps PEACE
16:31 would you guys ever sell me a cutting?
Love you guys!!
Also, do not let it get wet in the bag. It hardens up into chunks that are more difficult to dissolve.
I use the same thing. Before I've always been using vinegar (I've also been testing formic acid), but recently I've moved to citric acid and I'm gonna stay with it. It's very efficient, easy to storage and doesn't produce any nasty fumes. It's also a better substance for soil usage, as in contrast to acetic or formic acid it has an ability to chelate nutrients. I just wonder, as a nursery, do you have an access to nitric acid? It's obviously much less safe to use, but if I had an access to it, that would be my choice.
We have not looked into Nitric Acid. We will research it. But we are pretty happy currently with the Citric Acid!
I am on a much smaller scale, but I amend our city water to 5.6 to 5.8 pH. I use a product called "pH DOWN" anytime I add any water.
Plus, a little goes a long way.
Now you tell me!
Is this the organization MESA?
We are Mesa Garden. I'm not sure what MESA is?

I looked at the store and think it's a great idea - it already has me looking into the "freeze miser" which I wasn't familiar with. I did have a question about a product on there - the systemic insecticide. I previously bought and used imadacloprid-based insecticide on adult cacti and noticed dead bees on my windowsill so stopped using it. I like to be simple and organic when I can but I've been considering using something like you recommend for seedlings since they don't flower yet and shouldn't kill any bees plus I don't really want any insects in those pots. Does your experience using it line up with mine and what circumstances would you say normally call for using insecticide? My bee story is from like a decade ago and I'm probably on the overcautious side with pesticides since I'm just a hobbyist so I'm pretty curious to hear about your thoughts. I'm probably fine just putting some mosquito bits in the seedling pots for the fungus gnat larvae which are the main insect pest I notice but I'm always looking for better ways.
This is interesting and something we have not dealt with. In general we are not against bees and we are not for killing bees however, we are the pollinators around here and bees are not welcome inside the greehouses. We go on full alert if a bee enters one of our greenhouses due to cross pollination. And we actually set off bug bombs that hit many pests during the winter months when the greenhouses are closed up.
@@mesagarden2285 Ooh that actually makes sense you wouldn't want bees in your greenhouse and so it's not really an issue for your situation! Thank you for the thoughtful response!
Have you ever got a soil test for your substrate? Applying fertilizer would be much more efficient, precise and safe for plants if you get a nice lab test spreadsheet with the info what is abundant and what is lacking. For home growers it is not a viable option, but on the scale you grow your plants, I would definitely go for a test. And that would be an interesting topic for another video🙂
Thanks for the idea!
Really good idea, annoying amazon wont send anything fertilizer or pesticides or PH regulators to my country (Denmark) :x They dont seem to ship anything soluble 😫😫Think it might be the same for all of EU... Best regards :)
thank you so much for the product links! invaluable.
Fun to join you as you walk thru the greenhouse. I love your comments.
Beatiful collection of Conophytum, thank you for sharing, lovely! Waiting for the video during fall time
Love this! I miss the specimens! Hope you sell more of these. The specimen plants I got a few years back have done so well and are amongst my favorites in my collection.
Che bella passeggiata.Che bei cactus.Grazie di cuore❤🇮🇹

LINDOSSSSS
I shared this video with the cactus and succulent society of new mexico. Please consider sharing all your updates as the members all love your nursery.
Hi there from Japan☺️🙌🇯🇵I understand how much work it is to organize all those cacti. The Astrophytums are beautiful🥰That name 'Taiho' is pronounced 'Tie-hoe' 👍I enjoyed watching😃💞
Looks like it's about time for a fall update! thanks!
Listening to this video, and scrolling through the 195 PAGES of succulents on your website. Absolutely mind boggled. I live in Iowa, so this is crazy to see. I didn't know most of these existed, and I have like 400 succulents/cacti here. Wth. So cool
