The original is my fave but the dated shit graphics are annoying. Would LOVE a remastered version of the original. Love wrath of heaven but found the level too long and tedious. Always got bored trying find my way and quite gave up the maze aspect. Not really interested in the others. There is 1 game you didnt mention that would be great foe you to review. It's not a TENCHU game...but it actually kind of is. So the developers for the original game didn't make the others. But they did go off and make their own separate NINJA game that plays like TENCHU. SHINOBIDO! It is SICK!! Please check it out. It's on PS2 I do like WRATH OF HEAV

Tenchu is the first proper 3d game I ever played at a time my uncle used to rent the PS1 to play F1. I beat the game in an afternoon, didn't understand a thing of the story though, since it was in japanese haha

Never had X360 so i had to use emulator on my pc. It took me days to find an ISO file for Tenchu Z and finally managed to find it on a torrent website. It was totally worth it. Very unpopular opinion but my favorite games are BOTSA and Z but also i can see why people dislike BOTSA and it is understandable

Fatal Shadows definitely deserves that A rank. If the reason people didn't like it was because of no Rikimaru, their loss. The combat feels so much cleaner than the previous 3 games, double stealth kills are incredible to pull off, and I think the narrative/story is actually the second best after BotSA. On Rin, I like that her personality and what she goes through heavily mirrors earlier Ayame (moreso on the impulsiveness and lack of instinct, not the sarcasm). Rin's hand to hand combat + sword style also seems like a derivative of Tatsumaru's. Everything Rin could do in combat was so fulfilling, especially her throw with the finisher. I also thought the writing was really good as well. The villains were all over-the-top in different ways, most of them being straight up sociopaths, but I really liked most of them! Also highkey agreed with you saying the game had great replayability. Starting a second run with more skills (and several to still unlock), more items to choose from and new outfits made it so easy to replay. Great rankings, just had to obsess over Fatal Shadows cause it is criminally underappreciated!

I adore Shadow assassins on psp, but I agree that it feels like a Tenchu spinoff more than a mainline game. It’s a great game but the gameplay is very different. I still recommend all stealth fans give it a try!

Interesting how the main levels had no music (aside from boss fights) but there was music for the edited ones (or at least an option to add it). I wonder how different the main game would have been with music like there was in Tenchu 1.

This is one of my all time favorite games. I appreciate the love here. Real quick there are more than 3 jumps. Side jumps left right and a slight jump back, and off the wall as well.

45:31, what a great idea jumping into a highly lit area, get spotted, then whiffed on an attack and lost a chunk of health.

The game explains how to do pretty much everything outside of glitches, that's what the manual is there for. And if you don't have it at hand you can get a pdf of it in a matter of seconds.

Hi m8, what's the best way for me 2 play this Tenchu/ and the other Ps2 Tenchu games... As I've only got a PS4... Any advice would be much appreciated 🙏

I never knew you could get the bone breaking killing move by turning back to back in tenchu, since the one I played most as a kid was tenchu 2 and there you can just touch the enemy to alert him and immediately pres attack to trigger a killing move before they can actually react.

I got master ninja on this mission twice just because i missed one guard and got 14 stealth kills instead of 15 💀

There's also a bunch of attacks. Here's A guide based on my experience using these attacks. big forward lunging attack that you can do by pressing:⬆️⬆️ Sideways attack's ➡️➡️attack and ⬅️⬅️attack There's also an attack from crouch. The sideways attacks are best seen as both situational, a means of turning faster and capitalising off of your enemies whiffs when you would otherwise have to turn. The crouch attack is both good as an anti air and attacking small animals or those who are sleeping it also has some anti crowd utility when combined with the 180 degree crouch turn but should be considered situational. The lunge attack is good as a long range 'get in tool' to start offence (I still haven't found any better uses for this move)
