Hiya bud cheers much appreciated.
That’s a large collection! I use to have a Honda Chaly, I got given it by some friends back in the late 90’s, it had been laid up under a plastic sheet for years and the engine had partially seized and the bike was rusty in many places. I got it going, did the MOT work, tidied it up and used it for commuting to work, 3 speed auto mine had the square headlamp like your green one, reg was JGE 9**Y not sure if it’s still exists, hopefully it does. Would a Honda Innova 125 engine fit in the DAX or Chaly?
Hiya bud, cheers, it's taken me a few years to collect. Mum and dad had chalys when we were kids. Hopefully yours still exists somewhere. I'll keep my eye out for it. I'm not sure if tbe inova engine will fit. I've never seen one.
Nice one! I did fancy getting one of these but decided on an Ebike instead(can’t take a PC50 on a cycle path). Those horses looked a bit irritated that you were riding around their patch lol. Hope you do decide to put it on the road mate, it’s good to see something different on the road being used for what it was intended. I’ll be using my Suzuki CS50 as soon as it’s ready for the road.
At first sight, I thought that it's a sewing machine...
Hiya bud, funny enough they do look like singer sewing machines, I'll have to make one into one soon
Runs well, nice one mate, what did you use to clean the carb? Sonic cleaner or just carb spray?
Cheers buddy. Just carb cleaner this time, and blasted it out with the air line.
@@monkeyroo8740 Thanks, I’ve had difficulties in the past with 50cc mopeds trying to get the bike to run right due to carb trouble, I just couldn’t find a way of successfully cleaning the carb out, I’ve used carb cleaner but with limited success. I guess you need an air line(which I don’t have access to or a sonic cleaner.
@@willswheels283 yeah I've got a sonic cleaner for when there absolutely rotten inside. I've had a few where they have taken a couple of cleans to get right. Which moped you working on
Well done mate, it always feels rewarding to get an old dusty bike going after many years, I,m currently working on a 1986 Suzuki Roadie 50, I’m looking forwards to getting it going. Liked and Subscribed.👍
Hiya bud, cheers for subscribing. Yeah it's such a buzz when they come to life, and that smell they give off.
Great collection! And that's just the Honda's, right? Nice 😊
Cheers bud, yeah this was just the minibikes, there's c50s c90s and other period bikes In the collection.
Some collection that mate 👌👍🏻
Cheers bud, it's took a couple of years. But I'm always on the look for more. Can always squeeze another little honda in the mancave
Hell yeah
Very boring video 👎
Thanks for watching
Good lookin’ shirt! 😁 Bike is a beaut also!
Morning buddy, yeah I wear it with pride in the uk bud.. and yeap the st turning into a little cracker. You will have to do a ct70 in white oneday.
Enjoying your vids from South Africa. Would be nice if you could organise the projects into playlists as it is easier watch one bike being build and not having to search for them through the list. And I used to work for SKF so I know quite a bit about bearings and lubrication. You are using anti seize grease wrong, it can't be used on bearings. Anti seize is for components you don't want to rust and remove one day. You could use about any general purpose grease for bearings and I always suggest to the guys to get the best you can afford. And you need "pack" the bearings full of grease, just a little over the top of them won't be sufficient.
Hiya buddy, and thanks for watching. Yeah there's loads I'd like to improve on with the tech side of the videos. But I've no idea how to do it lol. Cheers for the info of tbe grease, much appreciated.. I've nearly finished this one, got loads more projects to do. Hope you enjoy..
Hi buddy . It looks amazing as always . I messaged socalminitrail in the USA about some parts for my ct70 build . They have all I need but i have lots of missing parts with that ct70 . It ain't going to be cheap . I need a flower seat also 😊
Hiya buddy, cheers bud. I bet the parts ain't cheap, but the bike will look epic when done. I got my flower seat of ebay, its not bad quality tbh.
Nice bike! First time ive seen that steering lock
Cheers buddy,
Do you ever use *David* *Silver* *Spares* for classic Honda parts? I've used them in the past for my CG125 and my NC50.
Hiya bud, I haven't tbh.. I've always used shires, I know there expensive but they have always been good with me. And I know its the right stuff. I'll have to take a look at David silver next time
@@monkeyroo8740 I've never heard of Shires, I'll have to look them up.
@@waynekerrgoodstyle yeah I've used them from day 1..would be goosed without them tbh
Love it . I need to do this
Hiya bud , the nice weather finally here buddy. Time to get out and enjoy. Going to be doing a few riding videos this year.
I'm so glad there was no mishaps in part two. Ian the soggy bottom boy 😛
Hiya buddy, yeah went ok from then on. Will be doing another ride out soon.. now the nice weather is here. Hopefully we don't encounter any ffords lol
@@monkeyroo8740 Fantastic! Looking forward to those!
Excellent job. Looks wicked
Cheers buddy. Yeah I enjoyed building this one, rode it for a year on the road. Now it lives In the conservatory. Hoping to do a chopper cub soon
Thats very very different to my grandma's that she used to ride on in the mid 80s
Hiya bud, yeah just a little different lol.
Hey, can I just ask. Do you know if the front forks on a MK1 NS50 Melody and a MK2 ND50 are interchangeable. Visually they look very similar. Mine have rusted through on the trailing arm part that’s welded to the main fork. Thanks
Hiya buddy, I've never tried them sorry, but if there cheap enough. Worth a try
Still wet 🤣
Hiya bud. I bet. But atleast the bike wasn't flooded
I swear I did not laugh, glad to hear you're ok. that was a good ride!
@@monkeyroo8740 Great video!
@@waynekerrgoodstyleit took Ian by suprise. Glad he ok and we had a laugh.

Looking fabulous bud, going to be a wee beauty. I really need to get started on mine, giving me motivation!
Hiya buddy and cheers..yeah do it bud..they get loads of attention when we're out on them.
Hello, great video, where is best for parts including flower seat, I have just got one to recomition, thanks Karl
Hiya buddy, and cheers for watching. I get all my parts from shires in the uk. The flower seat I got of ebay from Malaysia. Hope you have fun with yours
Surprised that it didn't need much....tyres, gold chain, battery & carbon clean ..all good !! Rode it through Lochs & glens in September ...FANTASTIC ......Love your channel , always interesting.
Good old hondas. They don't take much to get them right.. bet its nice up there in the glens. Maybe oneday ill take a trip up there on my st50. Cheers for watching buddy. Much appreciated
Bought a Chaly CF70c about a year ago ...wanted suspension ...GREAT FUN.
Nice one, I do like chalys as you may of guessed lol. Does it need much to get it back on the road
I also had a blue one at 16 ...just started work in 1968 ...LOVED IT !!😅😊

I also had a blue one when I started work at 16 in 1968 ...LOVED IT 😅😊
Another lovely little bike and as allways you got it running a treat.
Hiya bud, cheers. Yeap I love it when they come to life again after a long lay up. Typical honda, didn't take much to get it running.
Had a blue one @ Training School early '70's - shared by the household. NO suspension ! AND you taking your hand off the bars to signal was to risk life and limb as the front wheel danced about. IT was great fun !😜
Hiya bud, sounds like fun.. I ride some of the vintage bikes on tbe roads. I get some funny looks from the young generation, they haven't got a clue what they are. But the classics for me are tbe best.
New sub here from Scotland. You've given me inspiration to get my T reg Honda NC50 Express working again and my R reg NVT Easy Rider rebuilt! 👍
Hiya bud, thanks for the sub. Really appreciate that. And I'm glad I've given you inspiration too. If you need any help give me a shout. I've got a green nc50 which I featured some time ago. What part of Scotland are you?
@@monkeyroo8740 Hey thanks for the offer! I'll have to go check out your green Express video. I'm not too far from Edinburgh.
@@waynekerrgoodstyle yeah check it out bud. Its a great little bike. Always starts first time. I'll try do another video on it soon. I did enquire about a honda st70 up your way this week..its on the Isle of bute. So to far for me.
@@monkeyroo8740 Fantastic! To be honest, I think the Isle of Bute is a bit far for me to travel too! 🤣
Great looking little bike that!
Cheers buddy, yeah they look cool as. Goes well too
Hi great channel how hard is it to register a Honda chaly looking one that’s not registered
Hiya bud and cheers for watching. It depends where yours has come from. If its an import, you will need a nova certificate. But its not to bad aslong as you have all the paperwork that came with it.
Hi can I just ask a quick question. I have started to dismantle my old Melody engine. I have removed the four head bolts and the head. The carb is still in place at the moment. Is there anything else holding the barrel down. The piston is moving freely?? Is it a case of giving it a hard tap with a rubber mallet or similar?? Thanks again.
Hiya bud. Yeah just give it a tap with a rubber mallet. But do it criss cross if you know what I mean. But be careful not to damage the rings.
Many Thanks.
@@swisstoni01 keep me posted on how you get on bud
So with a few taps it came loose. The engine has probably stood for 30 years, the Speedo shows just over 2000 miles. The bore appears in good condition, nice and smooth with no obvious scores etc. The piston likewise looks in good health. The upper ring was free moving but the lower one is stuck in. Turning the engine by hand it appears noisy from the fan end. It makes a bit of a knocking sound either side of the BDC point. Hope that makes sense. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks
@@swisstoni01 nice one, glad it's come off without Any damage. Tbe barrells are getting harder to find. YeH I noticed on mine there was a bit of play too. But runs sweet as a nut. Like a little sewing machine
It's either an amigo or a graduate, they made the amigos in both 2 stroke and 4 stroke, also a novio but that had a tank on the down tube .
Hiya bud, cheers. Wasn't sure which one it is. Either way it's a honda. It's come up nice for the next video.
Love the PFs. I had my eye on one on facebook marketplace for a while. Looks like it will come up nice
Hiya bud, yeah I've always fancied on for my collection, but always missed out/ or something has took priority over it will have to get it on Road
It doesn’t look in to bad condition 🤔
Hiya bud. Yeah it's not to bad tbh. I've cleaned it all up for the next video. And was suprised how nice it's come up
Cool wee bike Buddy
Hiya bud, and cheers. Hope you well
Nice little bike, never see one here in the States. The engine looks kind of like my Motobecane. Does it pivot when you hit the throttle like a Moby does? I couldn't tell in the vid. Cheers!
Hiya bud. Yeah very similar setup to a motobecane, I have a x1 in my collection if you haven't seen it on my previous videos. I'm suprised there's not many over in the states, they were very popular with celebs in the 60s.
@@monkeyroo8740 Nice folding Motobecane 👌 . I'll keep my eyes out for a Wisp, I like the odd ones, lol
@@ogbigtsbikesandstuff887 cheers, it's not the fastest in the world but so much fun to ride
It is a Motobecane engine. It does not pivot from the cylinder head because it has a fixed-ratio belt drive. May I recommend a non-authentic modification? Replace the horrible Gurtner carburettor by a Dell'Orto SHA14/9 and get much smoother running, no smoke from the exhaust and almost twice as many miles to the gallon. In the 1960s these were very common, and you used to hear their engines four-stroking all the time except when going uphill. The Wisp in this video has been kept a long time in a damp place and the crankshaft bearings have been damaged by corrosion. The engine should not make this racket, it should have almost no mechanical noise (not even any tinkling from the piston; the cylinder is made of aluminium with a chromed bore, so the piston clearance can be less than it has to be with a cast-iron cylinder). If it is just the main bearings that are pitted you can replace them for a few pounds.
Do you buy, fix & sell motorbikes, mopeds & scooters or just do repairs for people?
Hiya bud, I buy to restore for myself, and I never sell. Once they come here, they are here for good lol With this one ,it belongs to a family member. I don't tend to do anyone else's tbh..
Sounds like a new engine. crisp !
Hiya bud, yeah it sounds sweet. Considering it's been stood..I'll be doing a full resto on it later on in the year
Crackin that,, i would defo ride that around town.
Hiya bud, yeah it's in good nick tbf..yeah I would ride it around town too. I'm amazed it's all complete too
What a cool looking bike
Cheers John.. yeah looks cool as.. goes well too
You mention the bearings were replaced in the engine. Typically if you were stripping one down and overhauling it, what bearings would be replaced. I’m about to start dismantling one. It sounds very rough and course when I turn it over by hand. Love the videos by the way. 😊
Hiya buddy, hope you enjoy your project. I replaced the crank bearings in the engine. They were noisey top. Thank for watching
@@monkeyroo8740 thank you.
@@swisstoni01 no probs bud
Love these things! Congrats on the find. I have the "SR" version in the states. I have done just a few modifications to make it better, but am working on sourcing brake lines at the moment. Will go 30-35 mph with a good tailwind!
Hiya buddy and cheers. Yeah I'm made up with it. I bet they go well over in the states, your roads look loads better than ours..have you tried ebay UK for a brake cable? There's a few on there. Cheers for watching
Nice!👍🏻 Where did you get the spare parts for the HondaChaly 50?
Hiya buddy, I source them of either ebay or shires UK.
Do the tank black buddy . Cracking bike
Hiya buddy. Yeah that would look cool. I'm hoping to get the original one fixed. But there's a bit of a queue before this one gets done lol
@@monkeyroo8740 I know how you feel buddy . I cam get 5 minutes these days .
Top job!! For me the colour would have to be royal blue, love passion for these bikes.
Hiya buddy, cheers. There's a blue c90 yet to restore in blue. But it's more of a sky blue.
How do you get you exhaust to clear up? I have an NH80 that was a barb find. Runs pretty well but smokes like crazy from old oil in the exhaust. What do you do?
Hiya buddy, what I've done I the past is either pour a little petrol down the pipe and burn it out (in a safe place) or soaked it in costic cleaner over night.
