Simon Fraser Memorial Event (Galson) Why Land Reform Matters: The power of people and place
This was the 4th in the Community Land Scotland's Simon Fraser Memorial Series - celebrating a hundred years of Community Ownership. The series is in memory of Simon Fraser, a solicitor and pioneer of land reform in Scotland.
The event was hosted by Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn, community landowner of the Galson Estate on the Isle of Lewis, who worked closely with Simon following the community buy out in 2007.
They will be joined by guest speaker, Brian Wilson. As a journalist and Labour politician, Brian has campaigned for decades on land reform; as a Minister he instigated the Community Land Unit at HIE and the Scottish Land Fund. He supported and admired the essential work done by Simon Fraser to help deliver a string of community buy-outs. In this talk, Brian will ask how that momentum can be regained and explain why it matters.
Maggie Mackay will also talk, reflecting on Simon's influence on her and Linsay Chalmers from Community Land Scotland.
Hosted by Agnes Rennie with music from the Ness Melodian Band.

The Earth is cooler with the atmos/GHGs/albedo not warmer. To perform as advertised the GHGs require “extra” energy upwelling from the surface radiating as a black body. (th-cam.com/video/0Jijw7-YG-U/w-d-xo.html) The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmos molecules render that scenario impossible. No greenhouse effect, no GHG warming, no man/CO2 driven climate change or Gorebal warming. Version 1.0 050322
