so for me it works up until i actually go to load a level, which then it crashes

I can’t seem to locate the WADs on the zdl application I have no idea why they won’t show up…

OMG this is hilarious because I was just thinking about this this morning, and TH-cam must have heard my thoughts

Considering the amount of questions here and lack of answers under some of them I decided to post a comment hoping you guys will find a solution and get your game going. I had some issues, but now the game is running and I enjoy it. 1. Error message: failed to run executable or something Solution 1: as the description suggests, right click the file -> properties -> permissions -> is executable should be ticked. Solution 2: make sure you copied two lines of code from the description link and paste it into the file. In my case, there was a space in the very beginning, I deleted it and game launched. 2. Camera/controls ain't working mate a.k.a. my guy keeps looking up Solution: there is an imgur link in the description with axis settings. Change your settings accordingly. I had to also custom-map every game action, but could not find a way to bring Escape menu. For that I mapped one of back buttons to keyboard Escape in Steam Controller settings. 3. Controls feel off and the cursor keeps running and messing up settings in the menu Go to your controller settings and configure deadzones. I changed mine to around .200 instead of .100. In case you messed up by accident, there is a reset button somewhere in the settings. Hope this helps. Yeah I forgot to mention that this video shows up first in search so that why I thought this would be relevant.

Got the game running but I’m having an issue where the game continuously scrolls down the settings randomly switching options on and off after I enabled controller support

Ty for the tutorial! One issue I've noticed is that when I launch the game from Steam, I can't type anything into the console. The system recognizes that I pressed the tilde key to bring the console up, but once the console is up it wont detect any letter or number key inputs. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I've followed every step in this video, and when up until the parts about shortcutting it, when I try to launch it it gives me an error that says "failed to launch the application executable", also yes I made the sh file executable

Good tutorial, but I cannot for the life of me get the Steam deck controller to work in game. Either the right stick works or the left stick works, but not both at the same time

Got the game running but it’s behaving like I’m always holding up on both sticks. In the menus it’s constantly scrolling up and if I manage to get into the game my view is stuck looking up.

DUDE! I have been trying to figure out how to add ZDL to steam through multiple threads and none of them talk about how you can view hidden files or all file types in the browse option on Steam. You just solved a huge issue for me! Thank you so much!

Can someone tell me how to get zandronum working on meh steam deck

The fake red dot sight isn't usless, I grab it with one finger and lift the gun stock up so I can attach my trigger hand too it when im in VR, and essentially blindfolded.

That fixed it. I was starting to get kind of upset that a game with this fidelity was constantly freezing and frame dropping on the deck.

Does this fix the missing cut scenes issue on Steam Deck?

what are you talking about? 4090 @ 4k respektive 240fps vs 7900 @ 4k 120fps and the 4090 is not faster than the 7900?

When I try to navigate to the .config folder to add the WAD file and the BrutalDoom.pk3 (through the ZDL app), the .config folder isn't showing up? How can I get it to appear?

The zdl comes up invisible whenever I add it to steam.

great tutorial. it also helped me to have "search subfolders" checked when choosing the pathing for the load files!

What is stopping me from just Drag and drop the Mod on GZdoom program file

I can play Brutal Doom on desktop mode well, but when I try to play it on game mode, the launcher pops up and I press launch, but it just goes back to the steam start page again.
