This fella finally managed to get the hot rod tractor back in the garage and made some headway on it. Between exhaust, the chain, and a shifter, it is getting closer and closer to being done!

That thing is really cool. You put a lot of ingenuity into it. The one thing I see failing is that chain tensioner on the bottom of the back sprocket that will get chewed up.

Nothing is as nice as a lift table and they will always resale also 😊 Leak down test is best tool there is to troubleshoot problems 😮 It was surly over heating so head gasket is damaged eather way
@philliphall5198 I absolutely love my lift too, it makes life much easier! Yea I very well could have done a leakdown test but the gaskets were leaking around where the pushrods went through so that wouldn't have helped much. Either way it runs WAY better with a lot less smoke 😉

I have a mower with a identical motor. Everytime it gets hot it shuts off. Ive changed the ignition coils but still doing the same thing. Have any suggestions what the problem is? Also where do you buy your parts from?
@@mikelitherland1154 When it shuts off, does it sputter or act like you turn the key off?
@mikelitherland1154 I usually get my stuff off of Ebay, I always make sure I research the product before I buy it too just in case it's not the correct part.
@@HPSmallEngine-ff4ve it just sputters off like it ran out of gas, i can choke it to start and run for a minute or two then just dies. if left for a bit it starts up just fine
@@mikelitherland1154 OK, have you checked the fuel filter? Does it happen to have a low oil sensor on it?

It's helpfull that you go thru the steps as most people haven't gone thru a morter rebuild. Most of the small engine guys skip over the builds and is more for the tteractics. Good job!

Growing up we always loved going to the Tractor pulls where I live up here in Sask, Canada and Later they added the trucks. Some wild and crazy machines out there. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I got a Massey 1655 as well. Came with the mower deck and a snowblower. Amazing little machines. If I could find a decent priced loader for it, I could get rid of my skid steer. It's bigger than I need. They'll work all day, then sneak out at night to do more!
@jeepanimal2943 That's awesome! Yes I really love mine. Mine came with a mowing deck too but it was not an original Massey deck and it was cobbled on so I got rid of it. I have thought about building a loader for mine, which may happen eventually.
That is coming along nicely. I can't waite to see the first burnout. Have a great holiday and keep the camera rolling.

How hard would it be to have the steering wheel straight up vertical? It'd be out of the way of your belly and give you more room too.
@user-nm7mn6sw1m I had thought about that but once you see where I put the shifter it will make more sense. Plus I plan on putting the seat back a little ways.

I am thinking the same thing. The hand gestures, lame commentary are over the top. The guy has talent at what he's doing but his jokes are really overpowering that talent.
