Hey man, I happened to stumble across this video again and had a question for you about downshifting. How are you downshifting? Do you just slowly release the clutch or are you blipping the gas at all. I typically release the clutch smoothly and hold it steady at the engagement point briefly to get the engine speed and transmission speed to match and then I release the clutch. Does this sound like the right way to do it (at least without rev matching).

Any chance you’re gonna throw something like a process west intake Plenum on there?

hey dude curious about an update on your car! im also in DFW area so im looking into AWD tuning. how has the reliability been holding? I've heard great things about AWD tuning but seen some people complain that it can be hard to get adjustments or ask questions in the future if you have any issues.

The Rex is still looking good, and looking great under the hood... Is that the correct oil filter you have fitted ? i have only ever used the Genuine Subaru Black filter on all my 5 WRX with no issues.. I would suggest you make enquiries on the grey filter, a correct filter is critical on a Subaru due to the 1 way internal valve 👍 Au

Absolutely beautiful! My grandfather had a 1964 Jetstar 1. I was 7 years old when he got it so I basically grew up with the car. He gave it to me when he got a 1975 Cutlass. It was my first car. Wish I still had it. Thanks for sharing!

FYI the paint on the car is Lacquer red cutting compound will cut paint then polish. I work on Oldsmobiles in my younger days ! Congratulations beautiful car 👀😎👍

Suburu Yeah....NO. Back when dinosaurs roamed the planet I had a 1964 Olds Starfire Convertable. 394 engine, and four speed hydromatic. The car came factory with positraction rear gears, and we had the FM radio although we spent most of the time on AM 1010 WINS, with Murry The K. WABC with "Cousin Brucie" and WMCA with Scott Munie and Gary Stevens. When I was alone I listened to WJRZ out of New Jersey. It was the only Country Station broadcasting in the New York area. I still remember the sound of that car's engine kind of like a peculating coffeepot of steroids. REAL leather seats, and a factory tachometer. Buried the speedometer once on the Taconic State Parkway just above the old Hawthorn Circle. Those were the days my friend! Thanks for the memories!

Awesome VB! Love how you take care of it. I just hit 1,200 miles and I've have it for two weeks 😂 partially because I wanted to get the break in period out the way. I'm here in California and I just took it for it's first canyon drive and actually put the pedal to floor for the first time! Always wanted a Wrx and I'm loving this VB! Keep up the great build!

Just installed mine after staring at it for couple weeks collecting dust bc I didn’t have an 8mm Allen key/wrench. After installing and peeling the blue tape off, lo and behold there’s a giant deep cut in the middle of the strut bar… wasn’t too happy about that.. but oh well. eBay life…

Bro can’t downshift 💀💀

Just saying man, if you’re gunna keep beating on the transmission you won’t have one soon enough with that power. Rolling starts will take a lot of the stress from it. If you really want it to be set up to beat on, get an sti transmission and all the goodies from that to swap. The motor im sure will be fine. The 2.4 is robust. Also, keep it above 3k rpm, you should never be going up a hill at 45 mph in 6th gear. Ever. Just some helpful tips so you can enjoy it for much longer. No hate brother! Nothing but love and I enjoyed what you’ve done with her. My 2020 before I traded it in was pushing 330’s for power. A bit conservative but the transmission is a weak spot sadly.
