As a subscriber of the channel, I've never heard a bigger straw man argument than your little train-track analogy. But then you went on yo misrepresent the reformed view of free will and irresistable grace. You either did it out of ignorance or on purpose. Neither is good. You use mostly philosophical arguments and not scripture. Sad.
Thank you Jesus ❤
I believe there is contradiction i the eternal security theme. Ismt what you have to do is believe in jesus and gt baptized to be saved? How then does that make remarriage a lifestyle of sin? I believe in marriage permance. Wouldnt doing so just be another mistake? I believe that eternal security is dangerous because it teaches that sin is ok.
I dont know how many will see this, but this series has helped so many people fall in love with Christ. I see people from my generation turning to Christ from seeing this show. Giving Jesus extra dialouge isnt changing the scripture, its making it more human (its a show, so it kinda has to be.) I always saw Jesus as hard to relate to. I know he was in human form, but it wasnt really easy to really grasp that he went through human life yk? I personally think seeing this protrayal of Jesus and the new testament has made me draw closer to God and seek more from him. It made me WANT to read my bible and find a closer connection with Jesus.
Proverbs 30:6 "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." The Chosen is putting thousands of words in God's mouth. How is this Biblical?
People do say the blood was enough. It covers a lifestyle of sin . Adultery remmaried people use the blood as am idol.

So if youre baptized and accepted jesus thats not saved?
@TruthLewiston, I have two questions for you in light of your view that the preaching of the gospel, in itself, is able to give rebels spiritual life. #1. Do you ever pray that God will convert sinners? #2. If so, can you tell me what you are asking Him to do? He has already revealed that in conjunction with gospel preaching, the Spirit will reprove the world of sin. You don't need to pray for that.
Randy, get the tulip petals out of your eyes and anywhere else and turn to Jesus The Messiah
@@truthseeker5698 I probably turned to Jesus long before you were even born. Perhaps you should get the stupidity out of your brain and attempt to understand the sacred Scriptures.

I hope this preacher doesn't celebrate Christmas! Paganism in the name of Jesus is much worse than anything Dallas Jenkins is doing!
EVERY Bible movie I've ever seen has additions and false information, including the old Ten Commandments movie. What I do is... watch the movie... then fact check by reading the Bible afterwards! I love The Chosen!
What movies have put literally thousands of words in God's mouth? The Chosen is quite unique in this regard. And quite unbiblical in this regard. Proverbs 30:6 "Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."
@TruthLewiston As I said, Most of the Bible movies I've seen since childhood have extremely added content & words to the scriptural narrative! You'd be better off asking which movies did not! The simple recourse is... If you don't like The Chosen, don't watch it.
@ohtoseemusic No, the question is, did they actually put words in God's mouth?
@TruthLewiston Of course they did! You've never seen The Greatest Story Ever Told, et al?
@TruthLewiston The simple solution is that God's people must discern the difference between religious fiction "based on truth" and the genuine truth of the gospel. I take almost everything I see on the internet/television as non-truth! It's the liars in the pulpit who are the greatest deceptions of this 21st century.

It's never a good idea to stay in sin. It always brings judgment, especially if you're a believer. Hebrews 12:6 "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth."

Jesus is my light
Some of you people who unscrupulously accuse Calvin and Calvinists of believing that God causes sin, including Adam's fall, need to read the following quotation from Calvin's Treatise on the Eternal Predestination of God-- "Pighius thus continues: “If the apostasy of man be the work of God, that which the Scripture declares is not true when it saith, ‘That all things which God doeth are very good.’” Now I can sacredly testify, and with all candour confess, that this comment of my adversary never entered my mind. I have everywhere asserted that man was created in the beginning perfectly upright. I have constantly asserted this, I say, for the very purpose of preventing the depravity which he contracted by his Fall from being attributed to God. I have, with equal constancy, asserted that the eternal death to which man rendered himself subject so proceeded from his own fault that God cannot, in any way, be considered the author of it. Now, if I had ever asserted that the departure of the first man from God proceeded in any way from the inspiration or motion of the Spirit of God; if I had not, on the contrary, uniformly contended that Adam fell by the instigation of the devil and by the impulse of his own heart; then, indeed, Pighius might justly have made his furious attack upon me. But now, removing as I do from God all the proximate cause of the act in the Fall of man, I thereby remove from Him also all the blame of the act, leaving man alone under the sin and the guilt. While I thus teach, then, why does my opponent calumniously and wickedly slander me by asserting that I make the Fall of man “one of the works of God”? "

@TruthLewiston So Satan can thwart God's will?
@@October31st1517 He can certainly encourage people to doubt and disobey God's word. What do you think he did with Eve? Genesis 3:3-4 "But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:" 2 Corinthians 4:4 "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
@TruthLewiston that wasn't my question. Can Satan thwarted God's will. Yes or no.
@October31st1517 Was it God's will for Eve to sin?
@TruthLewiston In the third minute, you imply not only that Calvinists believe sinners are completely inactive in conversion but that God carries their stiff, lifeless bodies off the track. That is a prodigious misrepresentation of our doctrine.
You are a living misrepresentation of Calvinist doctrine. Take a look at the comments in this thread alone and you'll see what Calvinists really believe: "dead in trespasses and sins!," wholly incapable of coming to the Savior.
@TruthLewiston You asked someone here to give you just one example of the way in which your illustration misrepresents Calvinism. In the first minute, you said that the "friends" in your story "didn't have a choice." No Calvinist believes people don't have choices. That is the first prodigious misrepresentation.
@TruthLewiston Better titled @falsehoodLewiston Your story is a misrepresentation from start to finish.
So people have a choice whether they are born into this world or not? Wow, that takes freewill to a whole new level. I don't think you comprehend the illustration. Please rewatch.

Unless I am deaf and blind it seems he read a lot of scripture to answer the questions.
@@SandyFerguson-o8z Who? And where?
I get it. But point #1-Gods sovereignty and our free will are not mutually exclusive (the Bible proclaimed both) and I think how they work together is one of those things we will just never unfold. Point #2. Either God created a world knowing more than half the population would go to hell and that only some would choose him, but did it anyways, or God created a world knowing we would fall into sin, and choose people to save from hell for his glory. I’m sure I could refine those situations better but either way God created a world knowing what was going to happen, so all theology’s have to make peace with that. Being “chosen”, “predestination”, ect, is just simply what the Bible says. There’s a lot of people that swing Calvinism in the wrong direction, and that sucks. But from what I have seen so far when people preach and teach through a reformed theology it really is just preaching and teaching out of the Bible unbiasedly. I hope this gives someone a new perspective
Knowing something will happen and causing something to happen are two very different things. As a father, I know that one day my kids will die. Yet I, by God's grace, brought them into this world anyway. Another father, sadly, may bring children into the world only to choose to kill them. In both scenarios above, the children die, but the nature of the fathers is dramatically different. The God of the Bible created mankind with a freewill. All men can choose to accept Christ and avoid the punishment of hell. The God of Calvinism created the majority of mankind completely incapable of accepting Christ. They were created to burn in hell forever for God's glory. In both scenarios above, people die and go to hell, but the nature of God is very different. One matches scripture, the other contradicts scripture. Christians should oppose all things that oppose scripture. Psalm 86:15 "But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth." 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
What a pitiful god you believe in. The God I serve has said, " For I am Yahweh, I do not change. (Mal. 3:6). See also James 1:17.
How to change God's mind? Is there something wrong with the one He has?
You're on the ropes, Big Dog. You're beginning to behave like a dog in a cage. You're gonna have to change your theology. Moses wasn't a Calvinist. Neither was David or Jacob (or anyone else in scripture) They asked God to change his mind. Exodus 32:14 "And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people." 2 Samuel 12:22 "And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live?" Genesis 32:28 "And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." You silly Calvinists would never wrestle with God. You don't have enough faith to. Instead you wrestle with words and wrest the scriptures to your own destruction.
@@TruthLewiston Are you so obtuse that you imagine that what you desire is better than what God has determined for you? Have you never read that as an example of our spiritual weakness, we do not even know what to pray for as we ought? Instead, the Spirit alters our thinking to conform it to God's will, not the other way around. I truly pity you since you will have to stand before God in judgment and give an account to Him for leading people astray.
You people truly need to be more cautious about your statements. If you are wrong, and I believe with all my heart that you are, you are guilty of blasphemy against the God who created you for His glory and who controls every breath you take. That does not mean, and Calvinists do not believe, that God’s determination of all that occurs in His world is the proximate cause of all the evil that occurs, but that if an evil action is perpetrated, it is not done without His purpose to bring spiritual and eternal good out of it for His believing people. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. We could not have that certain promise, if God were not in control of every detail of our lives.
Randy, beware and be aware of what you’ve projected in your comment. …… away from Me, you’re likely to hear ……. very sad Randall, very
Good job pastor. Keep going.
You have confused "ordaining" or "decreeing" with causing. Sinners are on the "train tracks" by their own doing and would rather perish that to submit to God.
Yes, so they're there on the tracks in sin, but God loves them enough to send his son to die for them, yet that love means absolutely nothing to the ones on the track that he doesn't chose? John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The phrase is "whosoever believeth," not whosoever I chooseth. That's your problem. God chose believers to be saved, he did not choose individuals to believe.
@@TruthLewiston The issue is how they became believers in the first place. It is pretty obvious that you have never read the Canons of Dort, and you have no clue what you are talking about.
@@TheBereanVoice It's obvious you've read too much Dort and too little Bible. The Bible makes believers. Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." 2 Timothy 3:15 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
@@TruthLewiston I did not quote Dort as an authority, but for definition. You seem to want to argue against Calvinism without having a clue what we actually believe. For example, from a couple of verses you quoted, one could get the impression that you think we deny that there is a sincere desire on God's part for sinners to repent or that there is a universal command for them to do so. If you are going to run with big dogs, you need to learn to pee in tall grass.
@@TheBereanVoice Your words represent Calvinism well. Instead of a sincere and honest study of God's word, Calvinists are interested in an intellectual pissing contest. You and your "elected" big dogs are nothing but prideful brute beasts to the cause of Christ.
Your "story" is flawed from the very outset. You are talking about two "friends." The Scriptures do not represent sinners in union with Adam as God's "friends" but as those who are "at enmity with Him," hostile toward Him.
The benevolence in the story represents the benevolence of God who loved the world enough to send his Son. Try reading John 3:16. Who did Christ die for? Hint: What does the word "world" mean in this verse? 1 John 2:2 "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
@@TruthLewiston It is likely, given the primary controversy during the 1st century, that John used the word kosmos to denote sinners from every nation and not from the covenant nation of Israel alone. It is also possible that he used the word, not to indicate the number of those God loved but the nature of tbose He loved. Since the word has at a minimum 10 different meanings in the NT Scriptures, the burden of proof is on you to show something in the context of John 3:16 that demands that you understand the word to mean every single person who has lived, is living and will ever live on planet earth. That is a meaning the word almost never has in the New Testament Scriptures. Additionally, you need to look at the purpose clause in John 3:16 (that is the clause that begins with “that”) and tell me what is states about any purpose of God to save those who will never believe.
@@TruthLewiston You might wish to read the following from the Canons of Dort, second head of doctrine, this is the defining document of the five points of Calvinism. Article 1: God’s Right to Condemn All People Since all people have sinned in Adam and have come under the sentence of the curse and eternal death, God would have done no one an injustice if it had been his will to leave the entire human race in sin and under the curse, and to condemn them on account of their sin. As the apostle says: “The whole world is liable to the condemnation of God” (Rom. 3:19), “All have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23), and “The wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23). (All quotations from Scripture are translations of the original Latin manuscript.) Article 2: The Manifestation of God’s Love But this is how God showed his love: he sent his only begotten Son into the world, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Article 3: The Preaching of the Gospel In order that people may be brought to faith, God mercifully sends proclaimers of this very joyful message to the people he wishes and at the time he wishes. By this ministry people are called to repentance and faith in Christ crucified. For “how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without someone preaching? And how shall they preach unless they have been sent?” (Rom. 10:14-15). Article 4: A Twofold Response to the Gospel God’s anger remains on those who do not believe this gospel. But those who do accept it and embrace Jesus the Savior with a true and living faith are delivered through him from God’s anger and from destruction, and receive the gift of eternal life. Article 5: The Sources of Unbelief and of Faith The cause or blame for this unbelief, as well as for all other sins, is not at all in God, but in man. Faith in Jesus Christ, however, and salvation through him is a free gift of God. As Scripture says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is a gift of God” (Eph. 2:8). Likewise: “It has been freely given to you to believe in Christ” (Phil. 1:29).
@@TruthLewiston And the point of "so, loved the world" is not how much God loved the world, but in what way He loved the world. Additionally, you need to understand that God loves in different ways. Do you truly believe that God delights in those who will ultimately perish in their rebellion and unbelief in the same way that He delights in those who are united to Christ?
@@TheBereanVoice Your points are weak and rest upon semantics, not substance. God loved the world enough to send his Son to die for all. You make it sound like God loved and Christ died only for "good" little Calvinists. That's stupidity. There's none good. Romans 5:6 "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
Because of reputations that precede them, people like MacArthur, Baucham and Washer feel entitled to berate and bully their hearers… calling into question the legitimacy and genuineness of their salvation based ‘on a prayer found no where in Holy Writ’…They almost gleefully damage the confidence of many believers and feel completely justified in severely wounding weak brothers and sisters… they use the lack of a fully transformative Damascus Road experience to call anyone’s salvation into serious question… I know cuz I’ve been there and avoided the crash and burn by God’s word and grace… sadly, these false teachers are thoroughly platformed on social media so getting the word out on these guys is vital to rescue our brothers and sisters who need it… Thanks for your efforts in this message…

Knowing the difference between what is biblically accurate and what isn’t is important, yes. But other shows and movies have tried to portray Jesus strictly with what scripture says, and it doesn’t capture the humanity of Jesus. The Chosen acknowledges that it takes creative freedom to humanize Jesus and contextualize gaps left in scripture. It’s a show that encourages people to better picture what the warmth of Jesus could look like.

Having myself barely survived 14 years of the whoredoms of my jezebel wife, and witchcrafts, being sooooo many. 2 Kings 9:22 kjv I grieve terribly when pastors who've NEVER been "one flesh" with a sexually inmoral wife....twist, modify, or interpret away Matthew 19:9 kjv only. Christ didn't ask, "What Concord has Christ with Belial"? ...for grins & giggles! .. meaning Belial in the sexually innoral wife. Righteous men beware! Let Ecclesiastes 7:26 kjv only, sink in... that God delivers those men who please him... (FROM) Her hands.
