Great video Alex. I have one question though. Living in the Northern hemisphere and with telescope mounted to a Meade Wedge, in which direction do the RS232 input sockets/power switch panel face towards? The North or South directions? In your video then, are you standing on the North or South sides of the telescope and pillar?

I've heard that this is more directed towards planetary image processing, and with the variations of saturn as the icons, I would think that that is the case. Does this make it any worse for deep-sky processing?

Hi Alex, Great video very informative of the different solutions for conversation on the Kirk Quick Release Bridge System for the Manfrotto MVH 500 Fluid Video Head. The L bracket you use had issues, with lining up with the Kirk base plate centrepoint, in buying a Kirk smaller base plate. Question if you bought the correct Kirk systems L Bracket for your model camera, would you still have the same issues of centre point alignment ?, with the standard, conversation kit plate which came with the system. Regards Nigel Rand - UK I’m using Nikon Z9, Kirk L Bracket and have a Sony A7RIV with need for, Kirk L Bracket.

That short knob of the 2.6" clamp probably prevents the clamp to be mounted in the fore-and-aft direction, and that I guess is the reason why Kirk said it is not compatible.

Thanks for sharing. I just ordered the bridge for mine off of B&H Photo and I went with the rail system as well.

Other great options for mac are siril and AstroPixel Processor for more serious photographers.

Oops. Clearly you should not be slewing the scope during the day with the protective cover removed. This can damage the optics.

I'm doing the same thing with a Kirk bridge replacement for my MVH-500AH. I haven't ordered it yet, but will order tomorrow. But this one comes with the shorter 2.6" clamp made for that bridge, fortunately. I'm pretty excited about this because I really hate those long plates on this excellent fluid head.

Hello. The simple and easy to follow tutorial, thank you very much. It seems that the result is worse than the original images, right? It happens to me with planetarium, individual images are more or less good, but the result is very diffuse, moved and bad. I don't know if it's malfunctioning or if I'm the one malfunctioning.
