Bob Dylan's historic performance in Locarno, Switzerland (1987) [AI upgrade + stabilised]
มุมมอง 8K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
On October 5, 1987, at a concert in Locarno, Switzerland, Dylan experienced a career-changing epiphany that he first explained to David Gates in a 1997 Newsweek interview and he later wrote about in Chronicles. It was a fiercely windy evening at the Piazza Grande Locarno, and in the thick of a song, Dylan suddenly couldn’t sing-his mouth opened and nothing came out. “There’s no pleasure in gett...

THE GREAT MUSIC EXPERIENCE was a concert starring Japanese and international musicians staged at the eighth century Buddhist temple of Tōdai-ji, in Nara. The concert, held over three nights (May 20 - May 22 1994) and partly backed by UNESCO, took place in front of the world's largest wooden building, housing the largest Buddha statue in the world. Bob Dylan performed three times, 20, 21 and 22 ...

“I am determined to stand, whether God will deliver me or not.” Bob Dylan, Locarno 1987 Then suddenly, one night in Locarno, Switzerland, at the Piazza Grande Locarno, it all fell apart. For an instant I fell into a black hole. The stage was outdoors and the wind was blowing gales, the king of night that can blow everything away. I opened my mouth to sing and the air tightened up-vocal presence...

Reminds me a bit of when he relatively recently rearranged his songs like they came from the great American soundbook. I guess this was from a special broadcast only in Japan? In a way he brought much to us who are unfamiliar with such orchestra music.

I am Hard of Hearing. Please add closed captions! Thank you!
Ah, the 90s in Japan. But credits over climax not good!
I was there at one of those Earls Court concerts. A little disappointing because so many songs had been rearranged, but I had to see my hero! And Street -Legal was a very good album!
I've always loved Street Legal, especially side to of the vinyl version. Budokan also has a lot of high points. I especially love his slow versions of Blowing in the Wind and Times are a-Changing. The version of Like a Rolling Stone on the record also has a lot of energy and feeling. I've always loved how One More Cup of Coffee builds tension that is then released in Rolling Stone.
Dreadful documentary, you be the judge
24:40 Well he wrote it so he's entitled to do whatever he wants with it but surely that has to be the worst version of "Maggie's Farm" that I've ever heard.
Mr Dylan we love you, your legendary contribution to music with a soul. Music the universal brotherhood of men.
Thanks for all you've shared with us all because you never gave up on your passions You have ❤😊❤😊❤ a pleasure for us all ...❤Thanks
Tuff, no privacy like the cars, though times have changed 😊

😄😄😄🤷♀️
«How much do you expect to have to pay for your ticket?» such a weird thing to focus on
Was Blackbushe mentioned? I must have missed it! That was a huge concert and, they reckoned, the biggest peacetime gathering in British history at that moment.
THANK YOU FOR HIS LIFE & GIFTING HIM TO US 😭 💜🌎🫂✍️✋👍🎸🌹💞👑

Bob dylan.🎉🎉❤🎉😊🎉
His marriage to Sara has dissolved just prior to this tour of Japan. No wonder, he loves sushi!!!😂😂😂
How old in Bob Dylan in 1978. Born in 1941, he is 37.
Love Forever Young, just like God’s in charge.
And Every Grain of Sand.
Dylan’s documentaries are where one really gets to know the true Bob Dylan. True his entire life, Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, 60 Minutes with Ed Bradley in 2006.
This is incredibly special, loved many times over. Thank you PSB, thank you so much. All best, N

Id like to think that Bob always wanted to play his greatest songs with a full orchestra with giant sweeping arrangements.
Your songs are masterpieces of deep healing , a gift to humanity.
It’s life and life only.”
Still listening to this wonder song 😊❤
Wonderful
What an EPIC performance! BRAVO to Legendary Bob Dylan 🌹🎶🎩🎶🕊🎶 ⚜️🍾🎶🔥🎶❤️🎶💋 😂accompanied by this exquisite orchestra, yet Dylan commands presence on stage! Not in the least intimidated ❤️🎶 Simply devine! Thank you for sharing this experience 🌹🕊🌹⚜️
I once hold exactly that guitar! I was so in awe I couldn't play it... Thanks to Cesar Diaz! This concert is a true gem! "Every man needs perfection!"
all it lacks is some terrific film of Bob Dylan performing!
Scroll ahead, there is footage!
He is a "True Blessing" from God!!
That's where you belong in front of orchestra...absolutely beautiful bravo❤❤❤
Forgive me...
Breath taking❤❤❤
not sure why, but everytime I watch this I get mesmerised - I'm getting old and love sick perhaps
Yesterday I watched Bruce Springsteen singing 'Sherry Darling' from a 1979 concert (No-Nukes) and watching it I thought 'Wow'. Bob Dylan has never - could never - deliver that kind of passion, power, energy and FUN. Dylan is not where the party is at, if you get my meaning.
If you don’t believe there’s a price for this sweet paradise, just remind me to show you the scars …
One of my two favorite songs (Along with Visions of Johanna)
very cool! thanks 4 sharing =) hearing all these different renditions is really blowing me away and putting a smile to my face ... there's quite a bit of 'stuff' here that I had no idea existed ... sometimes I wish I had been born earlier so I could have been there, but got lucky enough to still experience some of my favourite artists live in my time.
Thank you for sharing.
