Richard Hannay’s boredom is soon relieved when the resourceful engineer is caught up in a web of secret codes, spies, and murder on the eve of WWI. This exciting action-adventure story was the inspiration for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1939 classic film of the same name. John Buchan (1875-1940) was Governor General of Canada and a popular novelist. Although condemned by some for anti-Semitic dialog in ...

No, I could not find part one to this video.. I assume it’s in your collection somewhere that was difficult for me to search
But, if there is no Tom Cruise, no one knows Jack Reacher.
I've listened to the audio book several time and it seems to get better each time.
Robert a rookie
Everything about it is fantastic, I'll save it, and will buy the book for real, great story, great writer, and the guy that reads the book is great class, going so easy as if he is the story, wow, and as always the recording is fab too, so subtle sounds sometimes. ThanxxXX ever so much. For sure I will listen again and already looking forward to it.❤
Scary how much the lead-in to the war matches the Russian intelligence and military activities prior to the first invasion of Ukraine
It's a shame this book is wasted with the amount of advertising, Two adverts every chapter is far too much for the enjoyment of this book.
Background noise is too loud, so far so good tho.4:02
Nothing ruins the heat of passion quite like a robotic voice with no sense of rhythm...

Too many sad, sad, and true veterans' stories. Horrible treatment or lack thereof from the authorities.
Never read this one, time to check out my library.
This is not one of his best plots. He is entrusted by all the big US organisations to find who they think may be an assassin just because he arrested him years before. When he got to England and became embroiled in a local gang I gave up and the plot was too meandering. Also I was bothered he killed a man and just shrugged it off.
To those complaining about ads, just get TH-cam premium, WELL worth it. Can even cut off your phone screen and still hear it, while saving battery and you have a dark screen.

Tom Cruise is not Jack Reacher. Not in form or content .
Not only does Wyoming consistently rank in the top five states for suicide, DUI, & lowest graduation rates. It also has the 3rd highest deaths by 🐻 attack.
You messed it up with having a Woman go the narrative of a man
Not 4 me i didnt listen
Sorry for the crazy question but does anyone know if "coupe" is spelled differently for British versions of these novels or is the narrator British?
Dunno where you got the concept of spelling in an audiobook. Anyways, there you are. Word 'coupe' is a type of glass, especially the old version of glasses to drink champagne. The word 'coupé' is a type of car. There is a difference in spelling and a difference of pronunciation: coupe (like a coop) versus coupé (ryming with pay). Obviously, Harding is American. Note his poor rendering od the Welsh accent. Where would you be from? I would guess not a native speaker from the type of vulgar pseudonym you picked. At least, you avoided gash ;-)
@christophe_derambure even though it's an audiobook I figured he was reading it from some type of print or visual media. I've never heard of a book narrator going completely from memory. I thought perhaps he was a Canadian reading from some British version or a Britisher with a good American accent. I'm from Wyoming where sophistication is as sparse as the population so it's no wonder I've never heard the "coopay" sound uttered here. I'm not complaining at all, I'm happy trading pomp & sophistication for the beauty I get to wake up to every day.
@@philsmycrevice sorry , I think I misunderstood the meaning of your question. I guess that a Wyoming standard automobile would be an SUV or a truck of sorts. BTW, seems to me that the author, Lee Child, now lives in Tie Siding, Wyoming
@christophe_derambure no need for any apologies I'm frequently confusing 😁 Mr Child picked a great location. Away from it all but in driving distance of Denver for doctors & shopping. Thanks for answering my question & I hope you have a good'n.
As an independent researcher, I have discovered clear evidence that Charles Dickens plagiarized "A Christmas Carol" from an unknown American couple named Mathew Franklin Whittier and Abby Poyen Whittier.
part 2?
Part of me wished this was turned into a multi part movie series. But another part of me has seen what Hollywood does to good stories so maybe it's best they leave this one alone.
I understand the Russians had been well prepared and had the initiative. So they should have early victories. Still, as a Westerner, it was sad to hear. I know it gets better later.
Soviet capabilities were often overestimated
Jeff Harding IS the perfect voice for these series. No one else comes anywhere close to his talent for bringing the stories of Jack Reacher alive.
Read this book, loved it, really enjoy the audible version! Thank you!!
AI can not determine the proper use of words; wind "that blows trees" or wind like "wind a clock" or "wind down"! Very awkward to listen to.
Addictive within the skill of the narrator
No adverts! Thank you!!
I work at a high school as a janitor and part of my route is the library. I happened to find this book in one of the stands and couldn’t help but to be curious.
Like a good dinner, each course keeps getting better. the Ads are from TH-cam. A subscription will eliminate those. Vaya con Dios.
Slow to start but page turner then
;31:00.
Good ole Jeff Harding comes a"riding once more to take Lee Child"s Jack Reacher up there where he"s used to being... ""At theTOP "".!!
Totally agree with jdjones!
This is great, thanks for sharing. Another channel has an AI of Tucker Carlson reading the part of Hubble in "Killing Floor" & that's my favorite so far.😂
I have been 6ft tall most of my life.Tall people imo are discriminated against.Several of my friends are taller, one is 7ft 11 inches tall and wears small size 19 shoe So to me six ft ain't shit.I topped out at 17 years of age and have not changed in 54 years.Upside?Shorter people are less apt to confront a taller, bigger person.Downside?there is always someone ....
Less than 80 mph?Attention is paid more to those who do not excede the posted limit?Interesting hypothesis.
big chunk missing at about 1hr 6 min and a funny interruption repeating "that Alice said"
1:18 So... This world war, like many others, was lost before it even had begun.
Where is the ending? It doesn’t end at 10:13.
Desperately short of natural resources, they felt no choice but to start a war. Sounds like Japan before WW2.
Oh, and Jeff Harding! I used to love your voice and your readings for more than a decade now .. where tf did all that time go? quaint I know .. anyway now that I have seen your picture, is that really your picture? I'm seriously considering turning gay now! Gotta be kidding!
the character called 'Little Joey' seems ridiculous to me, made of paper and ink all the way! That last phone call! He suppose to be a philosopher king or what? Thrilled all the same. And grateful for the upload too, fiction meeting truth and consequences!
well now i think ill enjoy a numero uno pizza .uno what i mean
Add it up Jeff Harding you make audiobook amazing
Fantastic
Great build up for the "stiff with starch" part of the story 👍
Instead of us all complaining and bitching... let's ""play play"" this book is about Jackie ..... (Jaqueline Reacher)
Whether sexist or no.. Worst kinda P.C"ing from AUDIOBOOKS ever........ After Jeff Harding and Steve Bricks, I cannot fathom this P.C. version of this 16 >18 yr old "girlchild" as Jack Reacher.!!!! Whatever crossed their minds...??? Lee Child included... does he have a say in this abortion..???
