The town that I go through after La Faba is Laguna

That little dog was great! She rescued her when she was on a hiking trip in Mexico. Has been hiking with her ever since. She is really nice too!

Just to mention, early on in the video I showed a lot of downed trees. At the point during the pandemic, the chapter was not allowed to do trail work

At the 6:20 mark and all the houses on top of that hill in gurney are all my relatives houses. A lot of the farm land there on top of the hill also near potato river falls and below the train bridge are as well. I spent most of my childhood there on the Lauren potato farm. 😊

A very useful video for those planning on backpacking this eastern section of the Chequamegon Chapter of the North Country Trail in Wisconsin.

The machine is a boiler , there used to be a steam winch there that someone pushed into the hole years ago , there is a steam powered drill leaning against the boiler (at least there was the last time I was there several years ago) unfortunately the more people that know about this mine more vandalism occurs. Some thing are best kept a secret .

Nice! Is the bushwhack to Middle and Lower Foster Falls difficult, or is it not too bad? I've only seen them from the other side of the river.

Well I am glad I clears some 15 down trees on my adopted section from 33 to 43 minutes a couple days before you did your backpack. The preferred campsite on Lake Owen in a former resort and it is a primo campsite. Sincerely, Ed Ronkowski, NCTA trail adopter.

The Corrigan's Lookout trail was re-routed by the Hurley High School Science class and volunteers from ICORE. Diane O'Krongly is the science teacher and also a ICORE board member. The Heritage Chapter thru Bethany allowed the group to use the trail building tools. Four wheelers were driving up to the bluff and making a terrible mud hole and so ICORE with County Forestry approval came up with the re-route. ICORE=Iron County Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts. www.ironcountyoutdoors.org.
