Jeff Buckley - the band's best acoustic performance [rare]
มุมมอง 83K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Recorded 09/01/1995. Gaslight Record Store, Melbourne, Australia. Setlist: Last Goodbye 1:00 Lover You Should Have Come Over 7:50 So Real 17:05 Grace 22:53 Mojo Pin 31:10
Some thoughts on hearing this performance for the first time: 1. This is incredible. More arresting than his studio stuff, which brings me up short every time I hear it. 2. Jeff isn't a performer, or a singer / songwriter, a guitarist, or even a musician. He was an artist -- maybe the most original musical artist combining all those things I listed above since Nick Drake or Michael Hedges. The only person to surpass him in my lifetime (I'm 60), in my view: Joni Mitchell, and only because of her longevity and thus overall versatility. 3. I suddenly thought during "Lover" -- I wonder if any of his studio or live performances matched what he heard in his head. If not, THAT's a reason to hope for heaven, both for Jeff and for us. 4. Hell is reserved for those who put a commercial during one of these tracks, as opposed to between them.
Possibly the most heavenly version of Mojo Pin that ever existed. I didn't think i could love it any more til hearing this. Thanks so much for the upload. This made my month.
Listen to 0.8x speed!
Thank you so much for posting this--I've never heard it and my soul needed it!
Grace was the best
I was there too... What an amazing moment. Also saw him do an impromptu lunchtime set at the lounge. Might have just been a soundcheck that he decided to extend into a full set?
5 minutes in...sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The extra lyrics on mojo pin are just perfect
I always come back to this
Such a soulful and gifted artist who touches our hearts every time we listen to him. He will never be forgotten. Thank you for sharing this precious performance.
Vocally this version of Lover, You Should've Come Over is amazing. Those melodies around 14:20 were beautifully surprising.
Real Angel
Sometimes I just need to avoid listening to this guy because I cry nearly every time, its too much to put into words
I do too. Everytime.
yup
Thanks for posting this!
No problem!
this version of mojo pin is so unique, transcendent
A interpretação musical de suas letras são profundas e marcam na alma , quando o ouço fico semanas com ele na cabeça e acordo ouvindo suas melodias ...
is it normal to be tearful while listening to Jeff especially the live ones, fuck it!! so much emotions!
I played so real and sung it at the exact spot where jeff went under in the so called wolf river which isnt even attached to the wolf river its actually a back water or bay that IS part of the MIGHTY Mississippi I actually can't believe he went swimming where he went I can't believe that he jumped the visitor center Rail and hiked downhill through thick vegetation no telling what kind of snakes were there at that point that month of May I actually went down there and do the song when the river was low so the being that said Jeff was more than human I think he was an angel he wasn't scared of that River and obviously wasn't scared of dying you wait in that River with boots on and it's a very unforgiving thing that you may not come back from and I kid you not this dude was not ten feet from the land the bank the Coast Guard is located in that bay and a U-Boat went by and it doesn't look like there's an undertow a recurrent there and it's really not that wide a body of water either way Jeff and Spider-Man learn how to play guitar and his music never gets old I'm in a band in Memphis semantic shift and what an inspiration he's been and lastly every time I meet someone in the music industry or someone a fan or a friend new friend or family I haven't seen in awhile the first thing I asked him about music do you know Jeff Buckley
this is the closest we'll ever get to what a Jeff Buckley's mtv unplugged could've been, it sounds amaizing!
this is definitely amazing 🙏🙏
Thanks so much for posting gig...Rare indeed❣️
My pleasure!
After all these years... I'm still blown away
Fantastic, thanks for sharing!
Just found this… soooo great… how did you record this??? Would have given anything to see him live, this is such a gift. Thank you ❤
Go to a blog called 'blonderazorblade' .. you will find this and lots more live Jeff.
🌌🌟💕💜💕🌟🌌
2022 first time listening.
Damn, I was almost 2 when this gig happened 😂❤
Thank you 👍
Spectacular vocal tone on this performance even by Jeff’s high standards
This man..
Jeff was an Angel sent to us to teach a few lessons about Life , Love , and ourselves . Unfortunately we were not quite ready for his wisdom and the lord called him back as there was much more we had to suffer before understanding an Angel of this magnitude ❤️
'Dirk Diggler' pontificating about angels and 'the lord'. OK. Just one question if you would be so gracious, when we have suffered enough to understand Jeff Buckley will we all be called to the great kingdom in the sky, or will he return to play some gigs here first? I am ready for that! Can I get presales for my sins?
beautiful - favorite song
THANK YOU MAN! This is so amazing bro. Hope we all get to dance again soon man
Can't wait brother 🤙🤙 Should be a nice sunny winter..maybe a big winter SOS event could be a sweet idea. "Winter Soul-stice" 😎😉
This is great man, THANKS SO MUCH! What an amazing edit.
Didn't want anything to do with his dad, but Tim Buckley put out some great music as well!!!!
Nonsense he didn't want anything to do with his dad! Why do 'fans' still say this shit all these years later?
@@truefunksoul8638its true
thank you for posting

Thankyou Rick. Jeff loved to do a cover.. I feel his guitar was tuned perfectly to cover crowded house this night...Id love to hear that cover
ELLIOTT SMITH WAS BETTER
Elliott was great as well but it's not a bloody contest, what a pathetic comment. Should I head to an Elliott Smith vid and scream JEFF BUCKLEY WAS BETTER? I'm not a fuckwit, so I'm not gonna do that. Your comment is at the very bottom for a reason, TH-cam doesn't show them anymore but it bounces downvotes :/
@@truefunksoul8638 OH BUT IT IS A BLOODY CONTEST MATE. AND ELLIOTT WAS A MUCH BETTER SWIMMER TOO.
Just silly @@gaydiscotheque
Jeff's music means so much to me, I remember buying his Live at Sin e EP in '93 and it blew me away. Sadly I never got to see him live. Thanks for the recording.
😓
3am time to cry to Jeff Buckley again
more like 24/7
@@AtinyElring real
That’s me too
its 3am tonight my friend
This is just so beautiful. Eternally one of a kind.
Maybe we shouldn’t ask why Jeff was with us for such a short time… we were lucky to have him in the first place.
I felt the same way about his father. Grateful for what we are given.
Exactly ❤
Because he was a true free spirit and couldn’t be used and misused by “the culture”.
God rest his soul.❤
@@JohnKim-vb1kz does the soul actualy rest?
Katsumoto: The perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your life looking for one, and it would not be a wasted life. [With his dying breath] Perfect... They are all... perfect.. That is Jeff’s every performance..
so talented guy!
Wonderful, so pure. Take it to another dimension !!!
what a thrill it must have been to be able to stand there in line and witness that concert by the incredibly talented musician that Jeff was❤♾thankyou for this gem!🙏
