Looks to be an interesting and exciting soap read.
I would like your notes… what website?? Thanks.
Run to win!!!… love that.
I danced for you!!! What an awesome lesson, really needed to find this today. Thank you
Thanks so much.
What would we do today if a church member was found to be a sexual predator? I just read a true story about the Amish and how they used forgiveness. a member would confess to their sin including depravity such as Child abuse, pedophilia and sexual assault. As long as the member confessed, they were forgiven and shunned and after a few weeks and let back into the community. It became a safe haven for reoffenders. All the while forgiveness is being preached. what would this church do in a case like that?
A sexual predator can be forgiven and part of the church community, but in most cases, they would not be allowed to work with minors and, depending on the nature of the crime, other restrictions may be involved as well. Forgiveness for a past sin does not remove consequences that go along with it. Disqualification from certain ministry is still possible even under forgiveness.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I have a question, in Luke 2, we see in verse 22, "when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought Jesus to Jerusalem. As you said, that would be 41 days. In verse 39 "when they are performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they RETURNED into Galilee to their OWN CITY, NAZARETH. If they returned home to Nazareth after the events in Luke 2, and not to Bethlehem, why does everyone assume that the wise men could not have visited almost right away after Jesus was born. The wise men went to Bethlehem, not Nazareth. Yes, a lot happened, but all of it is definitely possible, actually thinking of everything they Joseph and Mary went through is amazing, and from what I found the date of Herod's death is estimated based on the fact that he died shortly after the events of killing the babies which has been assumed to be around the time Jesus was 2 based on the fact that Herod killed all the male children 2 years old and younger, but God could certainly have given the sign that the wise men in a way to get them to Bethlehem shortly after Jesus' birth. The big question is, if they returned to Nazareth after the events at the temple, then doesn't that mean that the wise men MUST have visited shortly after his birth? It all seems to make more sense to think they came when He was an infant. Why would Mary and Joseph have stayed 2 years in Bethlehem if they just went up to "be taxed"? I really look forward to your answer. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for your thoughtful question. One thing to consider is that neither Matthew nor Luke included all the details, so when they wrote, it may seem like it's more chronological than it is. When Luke said that they completed everything then moved back to Galilee, it doesn't necessarily preclude that several months were between the two. It seems unlikely that they would travel to Egypt and back in the few weeks between Jesus' circumcision and Mary's purification, but it's possible. We would need to account for the fact that Joseph decided not to return to the region of Bethlehem after Egypt and instead went back to Galilee (Matt 2:19-23). Does this mean that they stopped in Jerusalem for her purification first? An important argument for the wise men's later visit is that Joseph and Mary were still considered poor at her purification because they offered a dove instead of a lamb (Lev 12:6-8). Had the wise men already come with their gifts, it seems that the family would no longer have been poor. There's no question that Herod was paranoid. He easily could have ordered everyone under 10 years old killed just to get one infant, so his command for 2-year-olds doesn't necessarily mean that Jesus was close to two. There is a question of how large of an area around Bethlehem it included because Matthew wrote "in Bethlehem and throughout the surrounding region." Because of the Jeremiah quote referencing Ramah (about the same distance north of Jerusalem as Bethlehem is south), some scholars think the "region" was around Jerusalem not just Bethlehem. If there is any truth to that, we could argue that Jesus was at least 18 months old because John the Baptizer was 6 months older than Jesus and was not in danger, meaning he was older than two years. But, admittedly, that is speculation. However, I think these are all good questions to consider as long as they don't take us off the main point of Jesus' birth and how his family continued to obey God's law for Israel. I hope that helps. Thanks for asking!
@@oaktreechurch Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.
It may just be me and my ocd but that bookcase situation is REALLY distracting. Tossing books on top willynilly is like dog-earing pages to me. I’d love to come straighten it out and organize it. In the meantime I’ll have to listen with my back to the television. 😆
Lol 😂 I hope you will sleep better knowing that the books are not tossed willynilly. They are in their appropriate sections, but there is not enough room to stand them up. If they were standing, though, you'd find them in the same place on the case. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow i always thought his wife assumed guilt and told job to curse God. Wow, how wise was his wife!
Wow… i feel for Job.

Amen. Thank you for this awesome study on the book of Revelation.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you, brother. God bless.

I love this playlist! Greetings to pastor Daniel from Guma, an old WOL Hungary student!
That's great...thanks for connecting, Guma! -- Daniel
Great commentary on book of Esther. Didn't realize God is not mentioned in this book. After you said this I looked at the preface of this book and it was stated there. Interesting indeed.
Great teaching Daniel. I've heard this line of thinking before, but your ability to communicate it works very well for me. Thank you Sir!
Thanks, Tom. I'm glad it's helpful!
So disturbing… so the people who died because of their faith, are standing before God, and asking HIM to avenge their deaths …😳. What happened to forgiveness. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord…. Right. Do as I say not as i do???Wishing someone dead is wicked isn’t it?? So hard to wrap my head around it. So even in this heavenly place we wish death unto others. Can you even explain thiS…. Peg
Yeah, it can be hard to wrap our minds around some of it. Here are a few things that may help. 1) These martyrs are no longer affected by sin and finiteness, so they see and understand God and life much better. Their thinking is now clear not clouded, and they're looking from heaven's perspective. 2) These people have been slaughtered (not just "killed") by God's enemies in this world because they chose God over Satan's world. 3) God has promised, "Vengance is mine; I will repay." So they are asking why he is not fulfilling his promise yet. Maybe they thought it would be done more quickly. Much like we see throughout the Bible, God is patient and waiting for the right time. So, it's not so much just, "I wish they were dead," as it is, "When are you going to avenge us like you promised?"
Thank you pastor. Very informative and encouraging.
You are very welcome!
I hope i do not come across disrespectful…and i hope its ok to post here. my comments and questions are genuine. Thanks in advance. Peg
Absolutely! Glad to have this chance to work through these things with you. -- Daniel
The end… ITS A HUGE TAKE AWAY. Yes I can… whoa!! I just had a breakthru!! Wow.
They CHOOSE to worship over doing anything else…. Agree, i do not understand that. But doesn’t it make sense though they are in his presence , they are in heaven with him. They can see him, and his mightiness, we have to have faith and just believe. If i were in heaven in his presence … maybe i couldn’t help myself, but here in this worldly world, how do we do that? Hmm
As we grow to know him better and love him more, worship should start to become second nature to us. It will look different for each person and at different times, but the goal and result will be the same.
Why would they even have to put that he is trustworthy… that seems strange to me. “ he is all these AMAZING things, lives forever, all powerful… on and on… oh and trustworthy. Seems like a human trait… idk why that came to mind. I guess i have never thought of God as trustworthy, not that he isn’t, i guess i just assumed. When you say it out loud, it just makes me stop for a second.
I think that's for our benefit. There are so many things we can't trust that it's nice to have someone we don't have to doubt at all (even though we often do).
When you describe how the Angels never stop worshiping, it makes me feel ashamed. I have to “work” to find the time… how do we reach excellence? Well, i am far away from it .. thats all I know, thankful that our Father is a Patient man. Amen . Thank you Jesus.
I imagine that when we are there in his presence forever without sin, we'll be able to worship far better than we do now. 🙂
What!! satan reports to God, and demons do too… like today😳?.. woooooooow. How can God even stand him! I wonder with all the sick things that people do to other people and to animals, how can God even stomach him ! The pain, the trickery the cruelness, torturous, hateful, unthinkable things that Satan and his crew of demons do , thru us, why wait? How how how….. well he must be a patient man, obviously. Anyway… on a high note, I am so excited to have the opportunity to learn Revelations!! I cant wait to, go thru these teaching of Revelations again and i haven’t even finished the first viewings. Thank you Pastor. I pray for understanding.
We have to be careful to not push our human emotions and passions on God and think they work the same way. It's true that he has all the same emotions but he expresses them without sin and with complete knowledge of things we can't know. So, while God is definitely described as "patient," it seems that is probably far different than how you and I would consider normal "patience." I'm glad it's helpful! -- Daniel
I like your version of the platform, and how you backed it with other scripture, nice.
You are making these two books sound interesting. Looking forward to the next commentary. Thank you and Gary for taking the time to do this.
Thank you!

Thanks Pastors.😁
Being corrected, is a blessing… thats Pastors.
“Do not go beyond what is written”…wow !
Such a lot of info in these verses. Perfect right before stick around Sunday re sharing food. One thing I observed is that as disciples of Christ we do have compensation. That would eternal life. What more do we need? Praise God!
Good point! Thanks, Tina!
This is so helpful, am getting more insight since am also studying the same book for some time. Thank you gentlemen.
Glad it was helpful, Caleb!
Good word, such encouraging promises. Praise God!
This is my second time listening and trying to understand this, in my heart. Thank God we have a way back whenever we drift.. a true map. Thank you Pastor for this message.
So excited to be back and get started!!! I have NEVER read the book of Revelation.
Glad to have you back! Be sure to ask any questions as they come up.
Thank you for the explanation of verses 35-37 in chapter 12. This is also repeated in Luke20:44.
Thanks, Tina. It's a question that comes up a lot. Glad we could answer it for you. -- Dan'l
My study guide alludes to that gary. Kind of like extra healing and teaching for more understanding on the disciples part. Jesus wanted to make sure they got it. That's my take on it.
Wow so much is happening in this Chapter 20. I am glad that you mentioned that the Old Testament teaches us about God and what he meant by , the wages of sin is death. cuz it just seemed to me he was kill happy. But it all makes sense the way you explained. Thank you Pastors… and Moses… poor Moses..😞.
Why would God give quail and then kill everyone that ate it? Polygamy is not a sin😳?.and poor Moses!!!! but Moses was also truly blessed by God…… Miriam’ leprosy is a real lesson in even though your blessed / or VP you are NOT exempt from rules…. Unlike today when people think they above the law-peg. P.s. I am so happy to see that GOD SHOWED Miriam grace! I find a pattern …. Adam just followed eve, Aaron just followed Miriam …. Hmmmmm the men are just following the women… what does that say..you think?- peg
I don't know that God killed everyone who ate the quail, but the quail was given because of their complaint against God, and he gave them far more than they could ever eat. Essentially, the picture is of people engorging themselves, so God sent a plague to punish them for their rebellion, complaining, and gluttony. Yes, it's true; polygamy is never called a sin or condemned in Scripture. This doesn't mean that it's necessarily a wise thing to do, but we cannot use Scripture to condemn something that God doesn't. Yes, God's grace is amazing! Even when they were pushing against his obvious plan, he still showed grace. God has always designed men to be the spiritual leaders, and we can see in your examples what happens when men stand back passively and let women lead instead.
Also the levites didn’t get lands when they got to the promised land.. Cannan…. I wonder if the fighting in the east is over land that they should not have in the first place… just thinking out loud…-peg
Well, sort of, but not because of the Levites. The fighting in Israel is over land that the Arabs have taken when it rightly belongs to Israel.
Hi Pastors! So let me understand… so the 2 shackles was what you paid to the levites in order to get back your first born son? I understand why the shackles to the levites but who is paying if the firsts are automatically Gods anyway. Maybe I need to listen better…🤷🏽♀️😁. Thanks for what you both do!
Good question. So a firstborn automatically belonged to God, but a parent (of child) ot owner (of an animal) could "buy back" that firstborn. This system helped fund the Levite services, since the Levites were taking the place of the firstborns by being dedicated to serving God while the other firstborns went about their lives. Samuel is a good illustration of a firstborn (Hannah's) who remained dedicated to God.
Wow great SOAP this week! I have so much clarity. Thank you. I worship and serve to the best of my ability and let God do the rest… wow makes so much sense. I know we can not get to GOD by doing works…. But we do what we do to the best that we can…. All the while knowing him better and loving him more… 😁Thank you Pastors. Pastor Gary you said something .. you said “we give sin to much of a chance” …. What do you mean?-peg
Thanks for your question and apologies for taking so long to respond. What I was thinking when I said “we give sin to much of a chance” was sometimes we intentionally put ourselves in situations where we know it can lead to sin. Instead - it’s better to avoid that situation in the first place. Really, this is just a paraphrase of Ephesians 4:27 Do not give the devil an opportunity - Gary
Holy cow! So much stuff to learn … I can spend months in Romans🙂-peg
Pastor, does the passages on the 7000 Jews mean that only 7000 will be saved when Christ returns?-peg
I wonder if you're referring to the 144,000 Jews in Revelation 7? They are just the first of a huge number of Jews and Gentiles who will believe during the seven years of judgment after the church is taken to heaven with Jesus. The first half of Rev 7 talks about that small group (144,000 Jews); the second half talks about more people than John could count from all over the world.
Also… you said that the HOLY SPIRIT INTERPRETS when we for example can just cry …the spirit knows and interprets… but I thought we pray thru Jesus … there is no way to the father except thru me” I guess I don’t understand. I always end prayer… “ in the heavenly Jesus name” because he speaks to the father in our stead… is this correct? The spirit interprets our messages and prayer to God when we can not speak, and Jesus conveys our messages and prayer to God the father?-peg
You're right that we pray to the Father, through/in the name of the Son, in the power of the Spirit. All three members of the Trinity are involved. Paul's point in Romans 8 is based on the context of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Because he's right there with you, when you don't have the words, he can take over because he knows your heart and mind. It's a wonderful ministry the Spirit has on our behalf.
Thank you Pastors!, I can hardly keep up with my notes…. So much information. 😁. Note- I have often felt jealous as I felt like I was the step child, so good to hear we are adopted into Christ’s family… that being said I was adopted into a human family with not such great results, I guess I still have left over feelings as I often do not feel like HIS child. However that is changing as … 😳JUST NOW … as I know now that CHRIST WILL NEVER LEAVE ME, he loves me unconditionally forever and ever no matter what😭.-peg. Happy dancing💃🏽…. I could just shout!,
Yes! There is no need to feel like a "step child" in God's family. The concept of adoption that we have today is different than in Greco-Roman culture. Adoption was the process by which a son was legally brought into full rights of the family. Until that ceremony, even biological children had no more rights than a slave. Adoption was what made it full and official. So, when that term is used in Scripture, it's far more than how people think of it in our culture.
Wow…. I cant ask to many questions yet as this is just heavy. I understand bits of it and i am grateful for that. Can’t wait for chapter 7!! I remember once asking what grace meant… and never getting a straight answer, but rather I was scolded for questioning it at all , i was pretty much shut down. Anyway… can i say that grace is Gods forgiveness and mercy toward me , the sinner? Thank you pastors!! I enjoy these very much. I may not understand everything but its a beautiful beginning.-peg
I'm really sorry to hear that you were shut down for asking a question; that should never happen when something is asked sincerely for the purpose of learning and growth. God's forgiveness and mercy are an outworking of his grace, but they're not exactly grace itself. The traditional definition of grace is "unmerited favor" - getting something we don't deserve and can't earn. A better word in today's society is simply "generosity." God's grace is his overwhelming generosity toward us in so many ways...forgiveness and salvation being the biggest. I hope that helps! -- Daniel
@@oaktreechurch … 😁🙏🏽😀😍… so very happy to finally get the answer!! -peg . Thank you thank you thank you.
