The following is my previous setting and mic location : •The recorder is ZOOM H1 with low cut on, audio gain set between 17 - 22, and WAV format and 48khz. •I use external lav microphones, they are comica's lav mic (CVM-V01GP) and Sony ECM-LV1, with furry windscreen it comes with. •I clip the lav mic on the belt loop(the back one, right above my butt specific) of my pants, and facing the mic head down. Be aware don't get mic covered by jacket or anything to avoid muffled sound. •In my experience, these setting works better in the mountain roads than open area like highways. Maybe there's less wind in the mountain, and the exhaust sound got reflected on the mountain wall, then makes exhaust sound easier to record. And this simple setup starting catch wind noise after 70-80 km/hr, so the mid range RPM carries to much speed that is a little hard to record proper exhaust sound.

My latest settings is put the recorder and lav mic in the IKEA "PIVRING" backpack's mesh compartment. Also I made my own windshield for lav mic to prevent rubbing the mesh, which combine 2 Foam Windshields( for karaoke microphones or Audio-Technica's AT2020, anything is big enough) Attach them by the opening side to form a capsule like shape, and place the lav mic insider. Fill the empty space in the "capsule" with car wash sponge. You can poke a small hole in one end to allow the cable to come through. Although the backpack is ugly, it is very convenient to carry, use the recorder and able to record clean sound up to 90-100 km/hr. th-cam.com/users/shorts9s7PPCTeVew Appreciate your comment. Heavy and the inner tubes goes straight flat after getting punctured, the rest is fine, like other Japanese bike. Doing regular maintenance, nothing breaks down, great bike.

@@a99770a997 I have an Arrow Pro full system on mine and the headers allow use of the Arrow free flow muffler or the stock muffler. It sounds so good with the Arrow muffler that I risk going to jail whenever I ride since I can't resist winding 3rd gear out to 7,500 RPM which is handcuffs territory where I live in Maryland. Love the CB1100 and it's shame that environmental regulations killed it for others. As for me I'll never sell mine.

Totally agree man, this air-cooled engine is the legacy the Honda gave to us. I'll keep mine forever.

Glad you like it. Last night *in my time zone I found out that this bike makes nasty sweet sound when full throttle in 2nd gear from other bike's view. That's a great enjoyment even though I wasn't ridding it.

Appreciate your comment. •The latest camera I got is GoPro Hero 9 with Polarpro ND filter. I am using ND8 and ND16, depends how strong the sunlight is. •Shutter speed I set is 1/96 for 60-70 km/hr speed range, and 1/48 for downtown, lower speed riding. These makes decent motion blur to my preference. •Video settings are 4K, 24fps, EV 0, white balance auto, high bitrate, and flat color. I use final cut pro to adjust the color slightly. For audio, I recorded sound file separately. •The recorder is ZOOM H1 with low cut on, audio gain set between 17 - 22, and WAV format and 48khz. •The microphone is comica's lav mic (CVM-V01GP) and furry windscreen it comes with. •I clip the lav mic on the belt loop(the back one, right above my butt specific) of my pants, and facing the mic head down. I have a new video that riding around 4000-5000 rpms in 2nd gear, It's the same setup, though I turned down the audio gain to 16, audio quality is acceptable imo.

This is a random attempt of VHS-like VFX. Maybe I can do this on CB1100 exhaust sound series, it might be great.

I feel the same, CB1100 had discontinued straight in Japan, and no more air-cooled inline four bikes. Honda's neo-cafe style sells like hot cake here, though I still wish they brought back something more retro looking, but not that strange looking HAWK 1100.
