Through this channel, we intend to give you a snapshot of what our loom is about - the generalities and the specifications - how is it helping weavers across the world to express their creativity, but more importantly, we would want this to be a platform for talking about what ''you'' would like to know. Be it about weaving, the Thread Controller, the Digital Weaving technology, thoughts and experiences of other weavers or just anything and everything to do with those two magical words called the warp and the weft!
TC2 Digital Jacquard loom at Gancedo's Studio
This video is published on our TH-cam channel by the gracious consent from Madrid-based Gancedo (gancedo.com/), who design and manufacture decorative fabrics. The video was shot during the Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid in November, 2019.
As a part of the Biennial, Gancedo (in collaboration with DIMAD) had organized a weaving masterclass at their studio: "Inspired by Anni Albers. Creation of digital textures". The masterclass was conducted by artist, designer and textile art teacher, Francesca Piñol, where she showed the attendees the process of creating a Jacquard fabric on the TC2 Digital Jacquard Loom. In the video, the Purchasing Director at Gancedo, José Gancedo, talks about the masterclass.

Among the many high-points of 2020 so far, the most overwhelming for us at Digital Weaving Norway was our trip to Premiere Vision Paris - yes, the TC2 loom was there! For three days, February 11 through 13, our little 1-wide demo loom stood pretty and created quite a buzz among the who’s who of the fashion world.

This is great, but why is it hand weaving? It takes forever. Why not just have what u guys have here and just have it automated?
It’s for prototyping/design phase. Mass manufacturing has different looms.
@@bot5am but then they say it takes minutes "to come fabric to live" in reality it's not, but still much better than non-digital heddles - sure it's not hard to come up with a rail for the shuttle and just make it move left right, cmon
I, too, am a little flummoxed as to why the loom appears to be digitally advanced but mechanically primitive.
