How can i create beats on this generation of Juno's? Can i put the entire drum track together on the keyboard. I have the Juno Stage but it's basically the same machine inside.

I got my DSi back in 2011 during 1st grade... now I'm graduating as the class of 2023. I just wanna say that times have CERTAINLY changed in the last 14 years. So, to watch this 12 years after getting one of these... it's a weird feeling. Anyhow, I figured I'd post some kind of a comment since the last one was posted back in 2014. I researched the manual yes you can use the sequencer in your DAW as we see here but to go a step further this keyboard is 16 part multitimbral so you can also use this with your favorite drum machine like an mpc 2000 and record up to 16 juno DI tracks in your drum machines sequencer on separate tracks and lock it in time with midi then record it into your DAW just like i did having a triton rack back in the day. Or you can just sample the sounds in. Why let these rich sounds go to waiste?

My wife had one of these tucked away in her closet. There was no AC adapter so I had to make one. I'm more of an analog guy but being able to put MIDI files on a floppy disk to control my other synths is nice.

Hi, I just found your video here looking for some information on the roland rs 70. I never heard of this synth before tonite, and i owned a limited edition juno d, and really liked it. It got stolen. I found this synth while looking around for the juno d. I have a few questions for you. 1- how does this rs 70 compare in terms of voices and pre set drum patterns? to the limited edition juno d? 2- in a completely unrelated topic, I want ask you if you might know which synths exactly were used in the hit 80s dance songs " give me tonite " and " let the music play" both by recording artist SHANNON ( i know the same synth/s were used for both of those hit songs ) I just cant figure out which synth/s they are.. Maybe you can? and then let me know please! 3- I wanted to know if you would like to talk more about possibly playing synths on 3 full albums of 80s freestyle music that i am re making? I would like to explain the details of the project, but basically i am remaking several of those hit songs, and making them "my own".. But i am keeping the synth tracks all the same.. And do you live in or around the east coast area? These days people can record and send tracks through the internet, but i would prefer to record live with the band all together at the same time. Ok well, let me know, and thank you in advance!

Wow, have one of these, it was cheap, put it away, never used it. Thought it was a RS-5 until today until I got it out. Sounds like a good basic synth keyboard, better than my first synth, a Roland XP-10.

It’s funny, but I always thought I was one of the few people that liked triggering the tones in a drum machine with their own fingertips. That’s one of the purposes why I grabbed up a Yamaha DTX multi 12 and (among other things) have created a custom kit just with RX5 samples. I imagine that’s the closest I’m going to get to having a functioning Linn machine for the same purpose.

Can you buy a sound/patch module and plug this in to the RS-70 and get more sounds? If so, which one - like a current one...?

Nice demo. I would like to add a few points. Hope you don't mind. Instead of pressing the STEP/REPEAT button first and then the pattern/pad you can do it the other way round. The advantage of this is that you can have say 2 patterns playing on repeat and then hold down another pattern/pad to see how it mixes with the first two, THEN, if that sounds good you can press STEP/REPEAT so it stays on. Then you can try another pattern and if you like how that improves the overall groove you press STEP/REPEAT again. All the functions on this are supposedly the same as on the RT-223. They have the same manual. Which means that in GroovePlay mode you can have up to 4 pads/patterns playing at one time. It can create a different groove depending on which order you select each pattern or pad. If you hit the pad hard it will make that pattern more prominent or more loud than the other patterns. Also depending on the timing at which you hit each pad it can generate a very different groove.
