Chev BB are a good way to go for a weekender to be competitive because there’s no replacement for cubic inches..
Just drive it to work. You will suddenly be the coolest guy in the place, especially when they all find out it has a big block.
Haha, but it is so much cooler than copying everyone else.
@@JMKGarage oh so true!!!
Wtf is going on with the engine and blower, and transmission. My 02 Lightning ran high 13s. This truck should be running mid 14s or so. Definitely not the traction.
@@neilwattoo lightnings weigh less and make more power, but my brother (his truck) said he was having traction issues.

Isn't that the entire point of an old big block, jo computer to mess things up? I had a fuel pump recently go out in my 78 460... had one with me, changed it in under an hour. Back on the road. That's the idea. And 450hp naturally aspirated works fine.

@@Kazues_ but it’s not the same as the old school small block, different generation. It’s old school vs new school. Everyone gets so hung up on being correct or trying to point out how someone else is wrong, they miss the humor!
@@theleadfootgarage9078 ok
I have had some 350 & 327 that were way better than a LS.
I'd take a big block chevy any day. the LS series engines are awesome. But there is something about the old sbc and big block chevys I've always loved. I grew up working early pontiac 455 ho eninges and 400s and so on.
All old school motors - the badasses from the 413 Mopars and 409's to 455 Pontiac all they way back to the cool flat head eighrs all hooked up with strombergs blowing through straight lake pipes. Ls's are cool bit they can't touch vintage cool...yet
Gold😂😂😂
omg id be like: TELL ME EVERYTHING WIZARD!
No replacement for displacement.
I get the same s*** because I stroked a 351 to a 408 for my Bronco instead of a LS swap
Man got to have a Ford motor in a FORD car. Don't get me wrong, I like all chevys too, BUT a 351 of either family was a bad motor scooter when warmed over properly and sounded like it too.
@@GregTurner-ks4ii I have to confess as far as Transmissions go I went with a turbo 400 that's capable of holding a thousand horsepower. Because doing that was 1500 cheaper than rebuilding the e4od transmission and getting a trans tuner for it.
@jayallen408 I'm with you! I just like to see Ford motors in old Fords. I hate seeing a chevy motor in a cool Ford or old Plymouth, etc., BUT trans and rears are a different story. Back in the day, when I played race car at the local track, I had a Mopar with a Chevy Glide and a Ford 9" rear. My favorite Ford motor of all time was my 351 Cleveland in an old Toriino I had. It took all the abuse I could throw at it and never failed.
