did you feel like the comp carbon with upgraded tcu was worth it? cant decide between the (still discounted) base carbon or comp carbon levo. $5100 for the base carbon and $6750 for the comp carbon. I have my own fox 36 and fox x2 i will be putting on either bike.
for me.. TCU doesn't really bother me nor i would think it's a deal breaker or not.. bike ride feel the same ... but i also look at other components .. like the base carbon model.. it's a downgrade in the drivetrain department. and i can feel the different between NX vs GX. that's the major reason i opt for the comp version
@@GalenMa thanks for the feedback!
good dancers🤩

I thought you owned the bike 😀 How much was monthly payment?
$110 for the old Levo, the MSRP was $5000

Hi. Do you feel more nimble and comfortable going down on the Mullet?
yes it does make you feel more nimble
@@GalenMa Thanks. I am hoping for a Mullet bike but not as big as the Stumpjumper Evo. I think if regular Stumpjumper comes with Mullet conversion and a slightly more travel like 150 fork with 140 shock, it would have been perfect. I would like 1200 Wheelbase on the S3/medium like the regular Stumpjumper, also. Do you think if I change it to steep head angle on the Evo Mullet, I could have the same result since wheelbase would be shortened?
Hi. Nicevideo. So do you think it's worth getting the Evo with the Mullet set up? I am thinking this ride would have been better with the regular Stumpjumper, right?
going mullet definitely make the bike easier to maneuver .. but you also need to paddle extra when riding uphill
what is your height? I have 5'10 or 178 cm. Thanks
I'm 176 cbm
Awesome bike! Mine has no hub sound at all.. is that how it should be out of the box?
yea... i replaced it with the 54T ratchet.
I'm in Irvine and considering to buy this one. Where did you buy it? Costa Mesa? Good deal?
i got it from Santa Barbara,.. quite a drive from OC...
Save the analog bike for cooler weather. Long climbs and hot weather are for ebikes.
What was your setting on the fork while climbing?Did you change anything going up and down
@@ablobo17 I don't remember exact setting as i had a bike shop to dial it in for me... but i did lock the suspension for going up and open it up for going down.
@@GalenMa just the rear suspension right?
Very nice! How much was the hub up grade?
I think the 54T ratchet was about $105, it's worth the upgrade
I just did it myself! Love the engagement and sound!
I have the same bike and cracked the frame from a rock strike to the downtube, please take the time to improve the rock guard.
Oh, that sucks, did Specialized warranty or replace it for you?
@@GalenMa No they offered a discount on a new frame set, they look at it like a crash, "rider induced damage"
@@robsprimallife damn .. sorry to hear that... that's the down side with carbon frame, which always get me worry something bad going to happen to mine too.. that's why first thing i did was the bike wrap, may not help much, but at least better than nothing...
@@GalenMa adding some carbon leather from lizard skins helps
@@robsprimallife Where on the downtube did it crack if you don't mind me asking ? Was it under that clear protector they have pre-installed or was it somewhere without any protection ? Thanks, i am trying to figure out how to protect mine more.
Uh, that bike is built for serious bumps, roots, drops, jumps.....you need to get off the groomed fire road stuff and got hit some shit. In this video, you did not even get to 10% of what this bike can do
2%
Lets see you hit some shit…
Probably not a good idea doing crazy stuff in front of his young son at this time. May be few years later.
That sucks. It looks like you hesitated with that jump and got bucked off. Sometimes it's just better to just go with it. Hope your okay.
0:21 OUCH! It's like a horse kicking a rider off its back. Get off the saddle and float over the bump or commit to the jump. Hope you're ok!
Bike looks awesome! Did you go with the gloss or matte finish for the RideWrap?
in the video, the wrap wasn't done yet... but i went with matte finish with the wrap since i figure it's going to be cover with dust anyways.
@@GalenMa Hello, I did not get your explanation of how you got the bike shining ? very nice bike by the way
@@TetouneTeamActionit was just brand new that's why everything looks shiny
I ordered this bike and it came it the other day. I wanted to ask you two questions. 1. I noticed when you spin the back wheel in the video (suspended on the stand) it makes that sound all bikes typically make. On my EVO Expert it's spins quietly with no sound..I miss that sound. Is that a setting? 2. Mine came with a bunch of stickers...is those to put on the bike or just for whatever?...silly question I know. Thanks.
Hello Mario... Answer #1... i upgrade the star ratchet to 54T (Dt Swiss 54T Star Ratchet Upgrade Kit).. you can easily find this at your LBS or even Amazon. This help with pedal engagement, although it doesn't sound that loud in person. #2 i saw those stickers too, but i didn't pay attention to them since i got my bike frame and fork wrapped. let me know if you able to apply those sticker on yours.
@@GalenMa Do you get any negative pedal feedback on slower technical stuff?
@@mariog1244 only ride it couple times but I didn't feel any negative feedback
@@mariog1244 and Specialized have forgone the three pawl system and use this upgraded 370LN star ratchet for the same reason too, star ratchet is much easier to maintain, upgrade and replace down the road
The ratcheting sound will get louder as you ride the bike. When the bike is new, the factory grease between the two ratchet discs buffers the sound. The amount of grease the factory applies varies from bike to bike so some bikes are louder than others when new.

正哦,我都喺LA哦,有機會一齊踩啊!
8:33 seems like the suspension wasn't absorbing the bumps. too much air pressure or you forgot to set it to downhill?
Nice bike, I have the exact same model and size. All stock. I’ve been to lift access parks multiple times and pretty rowdy trails weekly with it. The bike has taken everything that has been thrown at it very well. Wheels will need to be trued at the end of the season but that’s about it. I definitely need to upgrade the rear hub engagement like you have.
Good choice, I can't wait to take mine to bike park
Do you still have the Fatboy?
Long gone already
@@GalenMa Good thing because fat bikes are best for sand and snow, unless it's an fat ebike then it is ok for trail riding.
Hi! Nice bike! I have 2021 evo expert and I am planning to upgrade my tires to 2.6 Assegai front and 2.6 DHF rear. How’s the clearance for the rear? Thanks!
There's plenty of room for 2.6". .. i think I read somwhere people claim they can put 2.8 in the rear as well but probably leaving only like hair line gap in between
@@GalenMa this will not void warranty of the frame? Right? On the user manual, max rear size is 2.5.
@@3igger1 to me.. it just more like making sure enough clearance between tire and the frame... the gap is there and the room for sure is enough.
@@GalenMa please clarify. It will or it will not void? I really like this bike! Because of the 3 HTA settings and SWAT box is a bonus. Thank you.
1:55 thorny weeds is one reason I don't like biking chino hills state park. the thorns are so tiny and hurt like hell. not good for people with allergies either.
16:15 oh man that must've been embarrassing. good thing you are ok and didn't hit the lady.
where's the crash in front of the joggers?
Do you guys need chain's to go up there?
Yes, i did put chain on.
Do you need a chain?
yes i did put on chain after turning right into the Crystal lake area... but many other driver didn't.. it was quite slippery
Solid! Nice Riding! 👊
