I think book stores like Barnes need to make a specific section for clean and closed door books so it’s not so hard to find them. I get most of mine online cause it’s harder to find in store and most of the time you can find them cheaper online.

Baker book house is the place to go online to find clean and / or Christian fiction. Bethany house and Revell are other publishers to look out for when book shopping.

I didn't hate it, but I also don't need to read it again. I dont get the hype around it, either. It was a quick, fun read, but I saw the twist coming. There was an obvious red herring, and I suspected the real suspect from the beginning. I will say, I appreciated the justice at the end.

Thrifting for books is awesome. The books are priced kinda high here though. Most are 4.99$/5.99$. I've seen higher. The lowest priced ones are mass market paperbacks at 1.99$/2.99$ sometimes even 3.99$. I am also very jealous of you finding those Joanna Fl;uke books not in pocket size.

Such a good video. I'm a mum of younger kids too and as a reader, I do like adult scifis, so I di not tend to have the marketing issues for books in my genre (yet) but I also agree that it is getting hard to make sure books are marketed appropriately. I have nothing against the "spicy", but honestly, romance of any sort is not really my thing as the focus of any book so I do skip a lot of those anyway. Looking out for your convictions and your gut instinct is the best thing you can do for your family. One thing I also do is try to make sure that there is no book in the house that I (or hubby) hasn't read except for a relatively small tbr. My kids are still on picture books, so its pretty easy, but hopefully publishers will improve their game by the time they are on chapter books. Good luck with it.

I’ll recommend project super powers by dynamite comics it started my interest in golden age super hero’s and does stay with me to day . Basic plot : at the end of ww2 the mystery men and women vanished. Now the fighting yank must right a wrong a return hope and find Pandora’s box . There’s more to plot but that’s the basics .

Have you done reading books from just one series form a whole weeks like reading Radom books from the cat who series . Here are several random titles from the series just off the tops of my head 1. The cat who ate danish modern 2. The cat who knew shakesspear 3. . The cat who brought down the house . 4. The cat who live high 5. The cat who talked turkey .

I am not a romance reader but I recently bought a clean historical romance from the thrift store to try and I adored it. Hi, I'm glad I found you. I'm a fellow booktuber and my channel is all about the clean romances. I also tell people triggers. I used to read the dark romances too, and really trying to stay away from them. I also find some very scary things in middle grade books too.

I'm so torn. Was it...good? No. Was it fun? Hell yes. But I love it in the way that I love chocolate ice cream. It's fun as a treat but it doesn't have any nutritional value. But I would love to see someone make a movie/limited series off of this because if you get the right cast I feel like it could be some really juicy fun.

Banging my head...because my 13.5y has and has read this book. Urg! I won't let my 16y-in-August read Twilight yet, and I'd not heard of problems with this book til your video the other day, and realize now I probably shouldn't have let my kid have it. I have 4 readers (3 are teens) and 2 of them read voraciously, the other only wants graphic novels and manga, and it's so hard to track books, and keep up with them....my 13y has a pretty good head on her shoulders, so I don't tend to worry about her as much (she's not super impressionable and stands up for what she believes), but I just can't screen everything. I'm about to let my 16y have free reign...I gotta let go sometime. She says all her friends have read and watched Twilight and can read and watch everything. Ugh. I just literally can't keep up with this world!

I am 21. I read Better Than The Movies and Betting on you. I thought while reading that these have to at least be for upper class high schoolers! I can’t morally keep Lynn Painter books on my shelves because of the language and sexual content in them. I don’t need an F bomb every 2 pages. Even though I loved the story arc!

What do you think will happen to a twelve year old if she reads a singular curse word in a book? Just because truth or dare is mentioned in a book, your daughter isn’t going to be addicted to drugs suddenly and going to crazy parties? I absolutely understand not giving dark romance to this age demographic but this is just giving weird Christian purity culture

This is such a weird take, why this holier than though attitude? You don’t want pe part of “that community who uses books like that”? And so what, tf does that have to with you?

I don't have children, but I have nieces and nephews and this is something I've thought about with them as well. So many books are marketed to a young audience that should not be. I've never been greatly into reading romance and have read very few spicy books, but it is something I try to avoid. And I'm a writer, so I keep that out of my stories as well.
