Had a great time catching up with everyone and riding through Rocklin/Auburn California. This ride has a good mix of hills and straights. Quite a few stops with minimal breakdowns. Stopped by Burgers & More in Auburn for lunch. All in all a good time. Decided to bring the Taylor RC (RCMAX) 80 out to play. This was its first big ride. Slapped a temp sensor on for good measures. Had a blast smashing with the Goped fam! Little moist out by the coast but the ground wasn't too bad. Only a couple pedders had issues. Flat tire and a bad carb. Turned around early and swapped the the guy with the bad carbs motor for an extra one I brought and fixed the flat on the other. Minimal stopping on the way to Stinson beach. Had a great time brapping with everyone. Low traffic through the hills was sick. Due to some crazy guy in Ben Lomand shooting at cops we were forced to switch the route up. Only a few people had problems with their peds. All in all great ride! #TeamNoLift #Ncf #OaksterdamCrew

What was your gear ratio at the time you broke the record?
Does it sound like it's running lean up top? I feel like it's sputtering
Needs a higher rpm engagement clutch to really get the acceleration out of the beast motor that completely wipes the floor of all the other shit ass gp460/g62 Goped engines
Higher engagement means more heat. We do 40-60mi rides. Last thing you want is melting clutch, warped bell, seized pinion bearing. Plus I like my clutch to engage under 30 mph. Hate waiting till 40mph still slipping clutch on uphills. Just my .02. Happy pedding.
@@thedealer799 I’ve never built one this fast yet, only a gp460 was the fastest I’ve ridden so far, but yes with a big motor like that, it will heat up the clutch. So? How do big 100cc go karts do it? Probably a bigger clutch and more cooling fin surface area. They need to stay reliable to win races. Someday, preferably before I kill myself on one, I need to put a water cooled 2 stroke single speed dirt bike engine on one, something you can actually get parts for and not spend a fortune. But for now, I’m just trying to turbo my Mercedes 190E.
You won't see many of these in Detroit. Mini bikes have taken over here. Especially big wheeled bikes. Our roads suck.

Loving my Taylor 80 setup and have done 62 so far on 10/72. Waiting for some good weather to test 11/72 then 11/64 if i feel safe/stable at 65+

What goped and engine are you On I currently have a super XPed I just got the Zenoah 29cc but I kinda want to get a 2nd Chain Drive what do you suggest ??? I see a lot of nice ones here never had the luxury of idling lol without the back wheel off the ground … So what would you suggest as an Experienced rider I want more speed than my 29cc to be honest !!! Nice!!!!!! What y’all do for balancing the wheels to do that speeds. And I may swap to single speed I got a 2 speed atm n it’s way to nasty of a launch. As quick as the tires can handle way too nasty I’d rather cruise a bit better
Nothing for wheel balance at the moment. Might be something we try in the future.

Wear a heavy backpack keep it strapped tightly to upper back/torso. It will improve your control & stability going into turns since shifting weight distribution up higher actually makes the gopeds handling characteristics more controllable since those depend almost entirely on how the rider stands on the scooter, that added control plus the rearward weight bias one gains with a backpack makes the rear wheel feel a fair bit more grippy and planted. Either that or invest in a moto GP style racing suit, those guys routinely survive crashes at well over 100mph & usually rush back to the pits to get on a fresh bike and back in the race.
