Secrets I Didn't Know Before Becoming A Minister
I️ never considered that he did it trying to force Jesus to do what he wanted rather than God’s will. I️ noticed the money gained matched the price of a slave and thought of it as Jesus was sold into slavery. There is a law in exodus where it talked about slaves who are slaves in order to repay their debt. Jesus was sold into slavery to pay debt in a physical and killed to repay the debt spiritually (Adam, Eve, Abram’s covenant, etc).
Yes, that's a fascinating perspective! And I too think that symbolic connection probably is the reason for the 30 silver coins. :)
@@DavidFredinSilverkors-v7e I’m studying my way through my Bible beginning to end and I️ see so many connection and symbolism that was never taught to me. It’s so detailed and easy to miss in some areas.
That is so true! There are so many typological prophecies about Jesus in the OT for example, which really ties the Bible together even more 😀
I really appreciate your content.
Thank you very much! 🙏🏻
These are very much the conclusions I came to as well. Thank you for your hard work in making this video, and though I assume AI is what was used to make the art, it did a pretty decent job!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found the conclusions relatable. Your support means a lot! Yes, the art is AI-generated, happy to read that you think it did the job! :)
If you want to disprove the Bible and relegate Jesus to a lesser position, say, that of a "prophet" or merely a "good man" you can make that argument, but you can not defend it in an open conversation with a Christian. Just admit you choose against the logical outcome and walk away.
Agreed
Yea bro
A young donkey is a colt.
Yes, that is true. But still, some make the case I am answering in the video 😀
I think that he was riding sideways, with his feet on the colt.
lol 🤣
@@DavidFredinSilverkors-v7e I'm serious.
This is ridiculous. This is nit-picky. That's all.
I wouldn't call it nit-picky. It's a great stumbling block for non-Christians.
Its the biggest book of man made chineese whispers ever created
Thank you for your comment! I recommend this video where I explain why the gospels are not alike to the telephone game: Fact vs. Fiction: Debunking Myths About The Age Of The Gospels - What Every Christian Needs To Know! th-cam.com/video/8vq-7o-mmys/w-d-xo.html
When Harry, Ron and Hermione went into rhe Chamber of Secrets... Asking questions about events that have no external evidence outside a single book is pointless. Especially when ghe rest of the book is filled with unsupported (often contradictory) claims we just have to "take on faith". Beleive in a god if you wish, for personal reasons, but don't pretend the holy book you point at convinces anyone who doesnt already beleive it is real. Tolkein wrote a more coherent creation myth than the Bible.
Thank you for your comment! I have a differing view for your (surprise surprise). When it comes to history, books is what we often have (but not only). The gospels and letters have good reasons to be taken seriously, which is why they are treated that way by the historical sciences. I recommend this video where I explain some of that: Fact vs. Fiction: Debunking Myths About The Age Of The Gospels - What Every Christian Needs To Know! th-cam.com/video/8vq-7o-mmys/w-d-xo.html
We can understand different accounts for the same event because that is human, which takes away from being God inspired in terms of no errors or being consistent. There are plenty of other errors in the bible due to human mistakes, such as Matthew misinterpreting two accounts of the same colt in the Old Testament and has Jesus riding into town on two vs. the other writers getting the correct interpretation and has Jesus riding into town on one. There are however other contradictions that just that, where there is no misinterpretation going on but rather one writer thinks something that contradicts what another writer thinks. Again this is an expectation if the bible is purely the work of man. This doesn't take into the account the many errors, such as the earth standing on pillars, being flat and circular with a dome overhead with gates that God opens and closes to let the rain and snow in. The bible may be inspired, but not the way believers would like. Even if there is a truth concerning God and Jesus, the writers could have simply misrepresented that truth if we were trying to reconcile the many problems with the bible itself as well as nonsensical concepts.
Thanks for your well thought comment! I think it in the end boils down to how you define inerrancy, if you hold to that doctrine. But also really what you include in what has to be correct. For example, I don't think many would include the use of that times view of the world as having a firmament as a proof of the Bible not being inerrant, since that really isn't the revelation but the culture in which the revelation was communicated.
@@DavidFredinSilverkors-v7e While I understand that leaving things out that are from that times view and perspective helps strengthen the inerrant position, it is sort like saying if we ignore the errors from anything it becomes more correct or heading towards inerrantcy. It seems to me if these types of errors are introduced, one has to ponder what other errors could have been introduced, which would also include revelations. The way Christians often mean inerrant is that the bible is completely without error in order to maintain the authority of God that is supposedly behind it.
Well, it really isn’t as disingenuous as it may at first seem. God communicates to a certain people at a certain time in history. It would be hard if he had to include a scientifically correct view of paleontology or the stars to say that creation was made in order and isn’t divine, for example. There are different view of inerrancy, for example a common European one (and perhaps in the US too?) is that the Bible is inerrant in revealing Gods salvation through Christ. Since that really is the natural focal point of Scripture.
@@DavidFredinSilverkors-v7e I don't think it would be hard for God to tell a writer what to write, especially if he knew the future and who would be reading it. Imagine if advanced aliens left a book with advanced knowledge. We would instantly know it is not of this world. When we see the ignorance of the writers then the bible loses credibility as the Word of God. The bible becomes the word of man and if that is the case, you have to evaluate each piece of information for validity. Should the bible be inerrant in revealing God's salvation through Christ, this is potentially lost on a person who notices fallible writings concerning other matters and questions the fallibility of the most important part.
@@scottguitar8168 This is an interesting discussion to have, regarding Gods motive for not just leaving a heavenly 3D-printed version of the Bible in both ancient and modern languages (or whatever one wish). And I guess you can already tell a bit of my point here. It is really hard to know exactly why God chooses one thing over another if he doesn't tell you. And the reason why he's done as he has is probably (at least to a certain degree) one of those things. I have a couple of thoughts regarding this: 1. If there were no way you could choose to deny Gods existence then there is a lot less room left for a real relationship to grow. Since you are more or less forced to acknowledge Gods existence then, and since God is almighty and all-knowing there is only obedience left. 2. God, quite obviously, wanted to be part of human history and not only standing on the side judging it from the outside. So he started relating to and communicating with people in the Bronze Age, even though it was quite messy, since they didn't have human rights, modern justice systems and so on back then. And so he decided to not just deliver a perfect book (in every imaginable sense) with humans only as "printers", but worked through them in the Holy Spirit so they were inspired in what they wrote down. But that also includes part of the world view back then. Therefore I view the Bible as perfect in the sense that it leads me to salvation, since that's the main point of the Bible, but I am not doing anything wrong looking to the sciences for explanations of how the planets move.
There's no contradictions in the passages you cited.
I agree, and that's my point really. That sometimes people accuse the Bible of contradictions when that really isn't the case.
@@DavidFredinSilverkors-v7e Yes. I think many people don't even know what a contradiction really is, and think any apparent discrepancy is one. But apparent discrepencies can be resolved by looking carefully at the text. The only real contradictions can be put down to scribal transposition errors in the OT, although there is a problematic one about where some king died and was buried. I can't remember which king though.
No contradictions.
Agreed
