I love perm rod sets that’s how I grew out my hair. I normally stick to a foam or mousse and either do it on damp hair. I use a leave in underneath. I don’t think I have ever used a gel. Your hair came out beautiful even though it wasn’t completely dry. Normally if I have a few pieces not dry I add some water and roll them back up. I didn’t like Big poppa too much after using it for a while. Also I find that I always needed a leave in under her products because otherwise my hair was left dry.

Remember to allow your hair to FULLY dry before you take your hair down. I’d definitely revisit using this gel for a perm rod set because I see the potential for a great style ✨

UPDATE: My hair remained soft for the rest of the week but the curls held up pretty well given the weather ie. breeze etc. Great combo, definitely recommend ✨

UPDATE: My hair felt a little slimy to the touch for the entire week and unfortunately my hair felt extremely dry and tangled while I washed out the product so I would not recommend wearing this combo for an entire week. Have a great day/week ahead ✨

UPDATE: The definition in my hair lasted the entire week, remaining soft up to day 6. Always remember to add a leave in conditioner before adding a mousse because they can be very drying for your hair ✨

UPDATE: My hair started getting really frizzy around day 3 or 4. Keep this in mind when using this to style your hair although everyone’s hair is different ✨
