    I have to say, the jokes about it burning down to the ground hit home for me. My 85 Toyota recently burned to the ground, and when my XJ started after a year of sitting at a coworkers place from being brought over from idaho...we all thought it was going to burn down..but it didn't!

    I picked up a 94 xj a month or so ago for about $500(cost of two transfers here in WA)..only to find a rusty passenger floor pan that I recently replaced, stuck rear spring bolts in the unibody. you know, it depends on what your plan is for your xj. i have had the same one for 5 years. i put a little money in it to begin with but i havent spent sht to drive and keep it. its pretty much stock, couple inch lift nothing special. simple basic transportation. gets me into hunting areas, camping, gentle 4 wheelin, daily driver. if your planning on building a monster truck of some kind ya, its going to cost you a ton. it doesnt matter what you start with. if you need sliders then your going hardcore and stuff like that costs for anything that is mainly a toy.

    You will want to wait the 24 hours for the rtv(gasket maker) to fully set, otherwise it wont stick very well if oil gets mixed into it when its not fully dry, do not fill the engine with oil or start it untill 24 hours later, UNLESS you are using a quick set rtv, if so then wait the recommended time before moving any further, i know its a pain in the a** but ive had time where i felt like i didnt put enough on diff covers and took em back off to apply more and you could see it doesn’t stick well to oily surfaces, but sticks fine on the dry surfaces, so make sure oil doesn’t come in contact with it for 24 hours, not to mention, it could also have seeped into the pan upon torque and now your mixing it with the oil

    Will the wj wheel hub fit on a xj?

    • @4HIGHGARAGE
      @4HIGHGARAGE 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@WolfMMA2021 I know the XJ hub will fit on the WJ knuckle so I’m going to guess the WJ hub will go onto the XJ knuckle. The WJ hub is a 5x5 lug pattern which is the same as JK & JL jeeps but the offset on those rims are so deep that you need a spacer to get those rims to work on the XJ. And if you need a spacer anyway you can get a conversion spacer and then you don’t even have to change your XJ hubs. I can’t really think of another reason you’d want to run the WJ hub on the XJ knuckle. The real advantage in this video is the stronger brakes and steering of the WJ knuckle.

    Just an observation here, I think if you can get a jack stand under the axle tube (it appears yours is hanging at full droop, with stands elsewhere on the vehicle) you may find that the hammer is much more effective on the knuckle when knocking the joint loose, as the leaf springs won't be absorbing so much of the impact.

      Correct. It uses Milwaukee's M18 tool batteries. So on the trails or back at the cabin you would need a way to recharge it. Or just keep several on hand for the week but that could get expinsive!

      Not accurate...you can connect just about anything to your car's battery. It just may not charge. However, for the Milwaukee, set a wrench across the red and black battery terminals. What steering stabilizer clamp do you have in the thumbnail photo? You don't address it in the video.

      Found it on amazon. I installed it and t immediatly rusted so I'm not recomending it. Its on my list to replace but since it's still holding I haven't been in a rush to do so.

    Take the handle off of your floor jack, pull it apart in the middle. Use the handle by sticking in through your axel tube and inserting the handle of a seal driver into it, fits perfectly. Tap from the outside and bodabing Bobs your uncle.

    Great video bud. What year is yours because when I clicked the link for the the RMS. Shows it doesn’t fit mine. Did they change the RMS for a 00/01?

      Yes the seal is different. Mine is a 1997. The install will be about the same though.
