Someone send this to FWC this is how SHOW identification. Too often FWC only presents excessive confusion WORDS and no form of photo. Some say because they only really care about the money from tickets etc. Okay, maybe create a BOOK with images and rules and sell them🤔 Thank you for taking time to make such and help those love fish and interest in fishing have something with clarity. Hopefully inspire more...

They're trying to sell us something, or make mass purchases?-
Thought that was blacktipH 😆
Man that bass is a hog!
What was the first scale you used? I'm in the market to buy a quality one.
Love how Florida does this…..western Pennsylvania has so few lakes to fish. There is plenty of rainfall water, springs and streams as well as many natural hills and valleys but in my life time I’ve only seen 1 small lake project in the 1980’s. On the other hand, they’ve drained down several lakes citing that the damns were too expensive to maintain.
I was just curious if I'm aloud to castnet for bait on a wma lake? I've been trying to find information but have been unable to find a definite answer. I live about 5 minutes away from webb lake.
Yes you are, but you cannot keep any NATIVE florida game fish
Rule One do not try to grab a bowfin but the lip
That's good advise
Hey you forgot the gar in mudfish
With so many rules and regulations, and fines, people lost interest in fishing in Florida and USA in general. Better buy some fish in the market, cook and eat and sleep happily.😛😛😛😛😛🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm fishing that place now and this man is right!
I don't know where he is, could be several places, not Seminole lake pinellas one. Catfish bait, never see.
Just a casual 8lb bass. No big deal.
Thanks for including my 11lb 2oz on the kayak at 1:02. My trophy still swims in Florida.
Fantastic program. Can't wait to catch another one!
😎👍
What kind of mats do you use?
What should we do if we catch an invasive species?
Thanks for all the great work you all do, to keep those of that love fishing places to do just that.
What about the Bowfin, the Gars, the warheads? Good little video thow 👌

Nice!!
Awesome! So cool that the GoPro was rolling!
Nice one, mate (y)
I didn't realize you guys had a TH-cam channel. I love the program!! My trophies swim in Florida!
Beautiful river.
Glad I saw this. Ever since I was a kid I was taught to move them back and forth in the water for a short time to re-oxygenate them. Never knew you weren't supposed to move them backwards, but I guess it makes sense since they don't typically swim backwards very often. Anyone have any more detailed info on why this is dangerous?
You know how to gills sort of float backwards away from the mouth. Well when you move the fish backwards it pushes the gills in the opposite direction. It can damage the kills and possibly kill the fish to keep it simple
Same..
I just weighed a huge catfish
Am I the only one that keeps my bass out of the water for like 2 minutes
they say to keep it out for 30 seconds, but it does take time to weigh it so i see what you mean
Same lol but I make sure they swim away helthy
Imagine trying to do all that for 30s on a yak 😆
Great topic. Hope more people watch and learn.
It is now July 2019, and I am DISGUSTED to say the least. ALL of the money, time, & effort spent to create this fantastic bass fishery, and they STILL don't have boat ramps & parking lot built, and are remaining tight-lipped, NOT giving ANY information about it. We've heard that they are squabbling between the different land owners about providing the land needed to build a parking lot and the ramps. SERIOUSLY? You people use OUR money to build this place, yet you didn't even have the details worked out about placement/land/access for ramps & parking??? Sure, you can launch ONLY from the northwest corner to paddle around in a kayak or canoe to fish there, but even then, they FORBID any access & fishing to those enhanced areas in the southern end of the reservoir. ( Which is about a 5 mile journey anyway, from where you have to put a kayak or canoe in to begin with........making such a long run extremely time-consuming & difficult, even IF you were allowed to paddle all the way down there. It would take AT LEAST 2, if not 3 hours to "paddle" that far down there, and that's only ONE WAY. Double that time for a round trip.) THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN A TRUE EMBARRASSMENT & DISAPPOINTMENT TO US LOCAL BASS FISHERMEN IN THE AREA. The "officials" and the WFC treats us like "it's none of our damned business" when we ask about any progress being made to get those damned ramps & parking built. IF IT WEREN'T FOR US, THE FISHERMEN WHO SPENT THE MONEY VIA FISHING LICENSES & TAX DOLLARS, THIS PLACE WOULD'VE NEVER BEEN DEVELOPED TO START WITH. THE FWC AND OTHER "OFFICIALS" OWE US LOCAL ANGLERS A TRUTHFUL EXPLANATION......INSTEAD OF TREATING US LIKE "USELESS PESTS" WHEN WE ASK WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. I SAY TO ALL THE "OFFICIALS" PERTAINING TO THIS PROJECT>>>> SHAME ON YOU.
I agree with what you said. I don't understand why the enhanced area is off limits for those who are willing to give it a go in a kayak or canoe. No explanation for that....
@@cjohnson2820 The only reason I suspect, is while they are still in limbo over parking & boat ramps, they simply want to keep those enhanced areas off-limits to keep the fishing pressure away from those quality fish down in those areas.
I was alarmed that Meredith ( the professional fisher woman ) does not know NOT to extend the jaw in a downward fashion on a bass, in particular, that this most likely injures the fish's jaw if you plan on releasing the fish !! We as informed fishermen have got to continue to spread this news ! Otherwise .... A great video !
What about the Bluenose Shiners?
In reply to Mr. Hornbrook, you need to realize that these fishermen and ladies are practicing environmentalists and conservationists. They don’t want the gators to choke on the life jackets!
Thanks to Len Andews for ruining my lake! I have fished my whole life 64 years, how did you ruin this lake by exposing it to Bass masters! It needs to be against the law to disturb a bedding bass while she only has 36 hours to spawn when the water temp. Turns 62 degrees and then she gone that quick, but no you site fishermen throw whatever you have into her bed and she really is not hungry! All she is doing is simply moving whatever is in her bed out of the way. When y'all see she has sucked the bait into her mouth only to move a few feet away and blow it out of her bed. But no y'all set the hook over and over UNTILL you catch her! And then ride her around for hours showing your buddies and documenting her as a trophy bass to several different official's as you call them, while the whole time she loosing her eggs and who cares? Well I do! Fish the way everyone else does and it's not site fishing! And I also noticed since exposed by "LEN ANDREWS" that the game wardens have vanished while their site fishing! Maybe their site fishing also??? Do y'all have kids? Well stop site fishing! It's like tying a deer to a tree like most of these resorts do and let someone pay $5000.00 to shoot a trophy deer! No difference. It's wrong and the game and fish commission should ban it and fine anyone caught doing it. Guess what Len Andrews is a friend of mine and has fished with me many times, but my fishing is entirely different than his! Ask him about Rod Crawford and how many giant bass has he saw me fishing with my Grandsons have they caught and weighed and immediately released unharmed! And it sure wasn't site fishing. Our biggest to date is 16lbs.6oz. I'll give a clue since I'm getting older and don't fish as much! Keystone Heights has probably close to the worlds record if not...
This video was 2014 and still no ramp today. Florida Fish & Wildlife wasted 1.2 million on the improvements. Government at work and they won't respond to request for information on the ramp.
fish it with a kayak or canoe
@@jasonottilige1204 Even with a kayak or canoe ( NO electric motors are allowed either, not even on kayaks & canoes ).......they have the enhanced areas TOTALLY OFF-LIMITS FOR ALL ANGLERS. You're not even allowed to fish those enhanced areas near the southern end of the reservoir from the bank.
hope to catch one, one day
Beautiful river. This has inspired me to try and get there to fish it one day. I've experienced the FL saltwater fishery as well as Okeechobee but have never fished one of the clear spring-fed streams.
Here we have two people standing up in a boat without lifejackets on a riverwith alligators. Really dumb of our DNR wouldn't you think?
I don`t have an idea where your from or where you live, but if it was here, you wouldn`t have made that comment. When people grow up here, they are not afraid of alligator`s and usually are champion swimmer`s. I have lived here for over fifty year`s and maybe heard of two that have drowned. Both were a dare devil teen`s jumped from a bridge and an alcohol related drowning. About alligator`s, they know how to avoid them. They will not bother you, unless you bother them. I raised three son`s and two daughters here, they swim in all the lakes and river`s. When you are raised in this area, you toughen up and become acclimated to it all. A wonderful place to raise your children. I now have five grown grand children and three great grand. None have been in jail or prison and still enjoy the outdoors of Jackson County. By the way, nothing DUMB about DNR.
My comment has nothing to do with alligators. To be safe boaters must wear life jackets at all times and stand up only when the boat is stopped. I have lived & boated here for over 40 years so I am familiar with the rules of safe boating. BTW, The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission records an average of about seven alligator attacks every year. Fatal alligator attacks do not happen often, though a dozen or more bites are recorded a year. (Reported in 2016). So, why take a chance? Standing up in a moving boat in any waterway is still very DUMB!
I grew up swimming with gators, never bothered us, they hadn't learned yet we could be food, we never fed them so they didn't associate us with food. Only you had to wear shoes to swim because of all the crabs in the river.
Gators!! where it is a clear spring filled river, gators do not live in clear water, they like murky heavy planted areas. Really dumb to say they are there you think?
Thanks for saying that. The Only Dumb things is to miss out on a "River Life"

Being a trophy bass fisherman here in central Florida since 1969, and with many bass of 8, 9, 10 and 12 lbs under my belt, I totally agree with Sean's advice. These are the exact techniques I use. This is also why it blows my mind to witness guys using spinning gear while fishing large live wild shiners for big bass. It just makes no sense, as far too many things can go wrong with spinning gear. For starters, I use ONLY 20 or 25 lb test Berkley Big Game monofilament line on my shiner rigs. That won't work so well on spinning gear. When you have the monster bass of a lifetime on the end of your line, you need the deck stacked in YOUR favor. This is best accomplished with quality baitcasting reels ( I'm currently using the Lew's Super Duty reels. They hold plenty of heavy line, super tough, great drag system, yet smooth & low profile, very comfortable reels. ) & heavy/medium heavy action rods, especially around thick cover, such as pads, mats, reeds, grass & wood. Leave the spinning gear for finesse fishing folks.
Very nice fish. I would've guessed her length to be at least 28 inches or more. All four of the 12 lb bass I've caught so far, were right at 26" long. Back in 2005, I caught a 9 lb bass that was a whopping 28 inches long. She was beautiful & healthy, but she just didn't have any real girth for her size. Longest bass I've ever caught so far. Now that I have yet another boat & fishing the Stick Marsh more than ever, I'm confident I will be able to take advantage of this cool program. I just hope they will accept good images only, because we must release all bass immediately here on the Stick Marsh/Farm 13. The new Fellsmere reservoir right next door should be even better. I'm primed & ready for the new boat ramps to be completed there. It's the only thing holding us up at this point.
