The Jack Michealson story in full (Brookside)
For me i prefered The swearing it was realistic
Paul Duckworth excellent actor. In September 2009 Dean and I were speaking in a small club in Liverpool city centre. I asked him about the night scene where the lads threw Michaelson out the bedroom window. Dean told me he was safe as he was harnessed up. So in real life he was hanging safely. But the effect was he was hanging by his neck
The actor who plays michealson is paul duckworth lovely man nothing like michealson
Seems like a joke to me
Rest in peace Jimmy corkhill Aka Dean sullivan 🙏
"And an apology wouldn't go amiss" "F*** off!" 😂😂
Wow I'm lost for words. Only 90's kid will understand how legendary Brookside was.
Was this the late showing?
Yes because they wouldn't have been able to have blatantly used the F-word so many times before 9pm
As far as the grants? Hahaha
Absolutely legendary TV moment right here 🙌 ✅️
Ok, let's get this straight - Yes they are real houses, but the TV production company bought the whole estate and while the show was operational, the houses were adapted to accommodate TV cameras, etc, also some of the houses were used as a production office, canteen, dressing rooms etc. The houses on the estate have now been sold off as residential properties, so if the TV company wished to film there again they would need permission from whoever lives there now. What usually happens is the production company offers the residents a contract, say like £500 a week in exchange for which whoever lives there has to agree to stay out of the way during filming. If they refuse, then the TV company can't film there, simple as that.
What a rarity a milkman
I Always Wondered If Barry Grant Killed Jack Michaelson
Brookside Was A Excellent Soap But The Incest Storyline Spoilt It Making It Decline In Viewing
Problem is,act like a psychotic dickhead, folk are gonna think you're either a dickhead or someone on the Plodders hitlist
20:07 i was attacked by a drunken father christmas 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like Jimmy's on the smack again
A REAL LEGEND
R.I.P SIR JIMMY CROCKHILL,
Damn I miss Brookside Me,
THAT MUSIC ❤❤❤
RIP Jimmy Corkhill aka Dean Sullivan 😢
Great to see this - very sad Dean's gone
The Michaelson hanging was easily the most brutal and graphic scene in soap history. But it never registered any interest, outside of the remaining Brookside fanbase. If that had happened during the peak of the show, even post-watershed, it would have been a huge controversy. When I look back on Brookside now, it had a notable history of selling murder to the viewer as acceptable and excusable. And it was very persuasive. But I was recently watching the Mick Johnson story where he committed a mercy killing on his mother-in-law. If you really pay attention, he did it for selfish reasons and should have been convicted and jailed for murder. But they framed the story from such a sympathetic perspective of him, that you want him to get away with it. Even with the infamous Trevor Jordache murder, Mandy stabbing him to death is excusable as self defence but then the coverup job becomes the real crime. Plus they were already trying to poison him to death, so an element of pre-meditation was there. Brookside had an underlying macabre to it. They challenged the morality of the viewer. Fantastic TV, it made you sympathise with guilty criminals. powerful.
Shows a whole new meaning to the words "Neighbourhood Watch "
It was no less controversial than Barry Grant murdering Sue Sullivan and her baby son, which he never paid for.
Saw this on the Unfinished Business DVD special features, wonder why it never happened, Phil Redmond probably wanted to do a few things after it had to end shame some of them didn't happen.
He knew he had bitten off more than he could chew with Barry Grant
Fingers crossed, it still might happen.
Now it's being rebroadcast in optimum quality from the start we could make our own version instead. I'll get back to you in 2034. ;)
As a Manc i loved Brookside, absolute great programme that had it all. can't forget the legend Barry Grant, terry and Jimmy. my favourite female actor was the gorgeous Nikki and her gorgeous voice, wow what a babe she was. great memories, great programme and great theme tune for sure.
Great actor but an evil piece of shite in the programme, can you imagine having him as your neighbour. well they do say the loud ones never last as we see the proofs in the pudding...
I think if you left him alone he'd leave you alone. Nearly everyone who ended up on his bad side initiated the interaction with him. If people kept to themselves and didn't bother him he probably wouldn't be interested.
I seen Claire sweeney at butlins mine head around 5 years ago , she had her little pa with her dealing with her kid , she was on the phone constantly…. But my 13 year old head couldn’t stop thinking about how many wanks I had over her back in the day ….😂
I always watching brookside all the time and its really good tv programme
Rest in peace dean Sullivan aka jimmy corkhill 🙏
One of the more pleasant Brookside characters.😊 Barry Grant was the man.
DEAN SULLIVAN DIED TODAY RIP
Love this .well done ❤
When Jimmy imagined hitting Michaelson with a spanner, and shoving him into the car boot. That made me laugh. 😂😂 12:59 It fooled me, I actually thought it was genuine, rather than Jimmy imagining it. Really well filmed. I suppose it had most people fooled.
The theme tune gives me goosebumps even now

Brookside please come back tvs not the same
Fabulous. I loved Brookie & I am so glad it's back on tv, I am here for it! I watch the 5 episodes every sunday. It's my sunday treat. I just wish they released 10 a week.
What goes on the house at far right that they need five blue bins?
I remember the plague storyline. It even had a few references to Stephen King’s The Stand.
Yano he’s gonna be a class character when his first words are “fuck off” to one of the shows biggest rogues 😂
Fooking fantastic.
Awrrite soft lad..................................l remember the first ever program, l was enthralled by it for years, Barry Lad. I speak better scouse than a scouse l have been told.
i wonder if the old people like jimmy corkhill will be in it cant wait
