My name is Jamie Mitchell, and I’ve been a pediatric physical therapist for over 20 years. On this channel, I teach the clinically proven strategies that I and other developmental specialists use professionally as well as with our own babies to help them achieve their developmental milestones. I discuss and teach the same "tips and tricks" that I used with our daughter to help maximize her development, help with sleeping, minimize tantrums and MUCH MORE...
I'll also discuss your well being as a parent. I post videos on how to care for your baby while avoiding neck, back and wrist pain by using the best body mechanics possible. I'll show the exact techniques that I used as a stay-at-home Dad while caring for our daughter to help decrease pain and avoid further injury.

Breastfeeding Without Neck And Shoulder Pain
Neck and shoulder pain are very common among moms who nurse their babies. Without optimal mechanics, the prolonged positioning repetitiveness of nursing/breast feeding puts significant strain on the mom’s neck and shoulder throughout the day.
In this video, I discuss how moms can use supports to allow their and their baby’s bodies to be relaxed while nursing and avoid injury.

Do Some Babies Skip Crawling?
มุมมอง 26210 หลายเดือนก่อน
Whether some babies skip crawling and go straight to walking is a very common question from parents. As a physical therapist, I work toward helping all babies to learn to crawl, but some of them end up scooting o. Their rear end rather than using crawling as their primary means of getting around until they learn to walk.

SmartNoggin Rattle and NogginRings Review
The instructions say the feet should be tip toed and there’s a big cross out for using it with the feet flat . ….
I truly have no idea why it says that. From a physical developmental point of view, the more time babies spend on their top toes, the more likely they will be to end up effecting their development and walking on their tip toes
Love the age milestones! This helps!
So glad this helps! Such a great toy!
The other one don’t
How do we treat it?!!
The million dollar question
This is very helpful. I'm Kenyan (living in the UK) and we spoke Kiswahili in the house so when she went to school she would reply to the teacher in swahili. So now that I have my own, option 2 does make more sense. My husband is Scottish so he'll hold down the English.
I’m so glad this was helpful for you! It’s a challenge, but it’s such a great gift we can give to our kids!
What about bouncers where they lay on ?
Really helpful, thank you! Think I'll invest in the Lovevery :)
Yeah please I’m asking the same question I was about to buy one from other channel recommendations but wanted to know your thoughts?on Vtech first baby steps,
I bought it based on your recommendation my baby is still 5 months he just using the shapes for weaning and sometimes getting them all out trying to putting on his mounth and whenever one falls he picks another tell he embty the box and cry 😂 then i fill it up is this was he supposed to do to develop skills on his age ?
Is there any activity center you recommend???
@@deemah6929 Unfortunately, no. I prefer babies have a safe gated area for them to play in while having the space to crawl around
@@yourbabyandyou how about the vtech walker do you recommend?
@@yourbabyandyou what do you think of vtech ball pit is the ball pit good i would kove to hear your thoughts about them and what do your recommendations fisher price one with basket or vtech basket with counting sounds
My son is 12mo and not waving. Ive been doing all these things and its not catching. He points now that hes learned that.
Has your son picked up waving? Having the understanding of pointing leads me to think that he was close to learning to wave.
@@yourbabyandyou just today actually he did something that seemed like waving. But it was a fist/closed hand
@ I’m glad you’re seeing progress!
Isn't that backwards?
It is advised to sit a 1 month old baby?
@@shakerawilliams2175 No. 1 months olds are too young. I typically start around 4 months, when the babies have good head control
@@yourbabyandyou thanks
@@shakerawilliams2175 You’re very welcome! I have milestones, strategies and video tutorials on my website that can help guide you through your little one’s development. Here’s the link: HelpMyBabyLearn.com
Hello love your videos I just subscribed my baby is now +4 but we have a huge amazon sale with my bank so I wanted to buy a spoon for me feeding him and a spoon for him to train I only found on the go oxo spoon on your amazon page could you please recommend a spoon for him to train on I got the miracle trainer cup you include? How about the spoons ?
???
Thanks
What about VTech’s sit to stand learning walker?
Yeah please I’m asking the same question I was about to buy one from other channel recommendations but wanted to know your thoughts?
Thanks
How to treat please?
I seen this on instagram when it was posted and started right away with my 5 (now 8) month old. Took her 1-2 weeks of consistency to start mimicking :) Now we’ve paired it with saying ‘ba ba’ and she does it without being waved at first. Incredible tip!! Thank you!! Do you happen to have a video about a clever way to start training baby to clap?
So sorry, I just saw this. That’s awesome that your little one picked up the waving! Has the clapping come along or is that still a question?
@@yourbabyandyou All good! I’m so glad that I was able to share my positive experience with your content and how quickly it worked for us (and so early!). I really appreciate your easy to follow tips! Funny enough, she started clapping all on her own just last week. We paired it with ‘Yay’ and she does it by herself now and also while promted with the yayyyy😁 Thanks again!
@@kylatrevors5351 Such an adorable stage!!!
thanks for the comment! now i know what to buy for my baby ❤
You’re very welcome!
Is there was to reverse the effects an an adult? 😅
I wish it was easy for my 5 month 🤣 he’s a wiggle worm
Hi I watched a video previously about club crawling and the OT said it means one side of the body is tight. If my baby is club crawling with the right leg up, which side is likely to be tight? I’ve also noticed he prefers to be breastfeed from the left side and wondering if it could also be due to some tightness?
How to I raise the platform? The straps cannot be adjusted?
Thanks
Thank you for the reassurance!
There is no Audio for this video!
This is genius! Thank you! 👍🏼👍🏼😄
You’re welcome!
Like for growing your hair 😂
If baby is good with her head over the shoulder but flops forward in sitting after a minute or two is it too soon ?
In those situations, I typically provide a lot of support at the trunk while practicing sitting and stop the sitting if our little one starts to lose his/her head control
'Promosm'
Really nice video; are there any exercises that you would recommend?
So strange. My baby is 5 months and is almost always standing feet flat on this. She's definitely not ready to walk yet though, so the logic here is confusing to me- She can't even sit up by herself. Anywho, maybe I just got lucky and my little one is using this as intended. Have pics to prove it lol
Is there a activity center that you would approve?
So sorry, I just saw your comment. Unfortunately, there isn’t an activity center that I really like. I prefer floor time and gated play areas for the kids
Thank you for the review
Don’t begin Tummy Time if your pediatrician tells you not to. There are some medical conditions that prevent babies from being able to perform Tummy Time initially
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Why the long hair ? 😂😂😂😂
