I wanted to keep the coats as thin as possible so it would wear off easily. Ive done coats of clear on top of other guitars though. I find that nitro in a can doesn't seem to check as naturally as the stuff from proper factories. Could be me doing it wrong though! I've tried putting the body in the freezer as well as the classic air can and hair dryer 🤣

Thanks a lot John! To be honest I don't think I played it note for note like the original track. Especially as Megan's slide playing is hard to replicate on a normal guitar! I just looked up the basics chords and then played the lead guitar melodies by ear close to what I heard in the song. I don't really make tutorials as I'm not good enough at music theory to explain what I'm doing 🤣 but all the lead stuff is just basic pentatonic shapes

Thanks Ellie! Happy new year to you too 😁 (in about 24 hours 🤣) Not the most helpful answer but the best way is just to start. At first it's just about building the muscles up so you have more control over your voice. Sing along to songs you like etc. With some practice you'll get better and also start to hear when you're a bit out of tune and can work on that. You can also watch some TH-cam videos of the technicalities of singing. Learning to sing from your diaphragm rather than your throat etc

I did yeah. Because I wanted the nitro to be as thin as possible. But I've done non-reliced finishes on other guitars and used about 5 layers of clear coat as they needed to be better finishes. It's very hard not to sand through if you have fewer layers

Nitro sanding sealer. A couple of coats of that stops the wood absorbing the paint so the colour goes on more evenly
