i watched this out of context and freaked out. i was like "WTF 😭" until i read the comments
Ok, so yes, the scene is deliberately sexualised . However, it is in itself both telling and touching. The way ciel is just like "i want them dead!" And Sebastian is just "say less" and imidiately ka-lay-mahs the dude is touching. And the rather placid way he is holding him after is telling. Even the way he traces a thumb over his open mouth is giving "placid observation." he could not care less about ciels destress . He's just being opportunistic to build street credit.

The second season was a non-canon. It does not have any link to the original manga. It was just made to explore the characters personality. From third season which is the book of circus it follows the manga. In the first season, from episode 1-15 follows the manga and then from 16 to the whole second season is not the original storyline. Basically after episode 15 the original story follows from the third season.
