I’m so unhip. I love the box. It sounds fine to my ears. I don’t give a 💩 about DR numbers or Foobar readings or whatever else gives Hoffman nutters semis. I trust my ears and my ears approve. The new mix - Not perfect but still fascinating. Its not replacing the original, which Ill continue to play, but its there if I want to hear the debut from a different angle. I even like Mad The Swine being added. The De Lane Lea tracks have never sounded better. The studio outtakes - if someone had given me these back in the 70s I would have thought all my Christmasses had come at once. If I had one grumble, I would liked to have had MORE banter. The instrumentals are interesting. They show me how much the vocals can pull me away from what’s going on in the background, so its great to hear the unadulterated band doing their thing. The live tracks are a bit piecemeal but still worthy and the Radio Sessions are class. Yes, in a perfect world I would prefer not to buy the live stuff and BBC tracks again, but no one is forcing me to buy the box, so its my own problem really. Bring on Q2, please.

Great interview. Brian stated he saw The Hollies when he was 5 or 10! Time must have confused him as he's only 5 or 6 years younger than some of them and 2 years for another. 😊

I remember hearing this on the radio. 1978 not 1977.

This is from a double radio promo record I picked up in the early 90s. I had to cut out the music for copyright reasons. I think I shared it on Queenzone a few years back.
