This Sansui comes with a tonearm really good, as good as the Rega rb200 IMHO Sound quality is great even with this budget audio technica cartridge. Sadly the sound quality of my video doesn't reflect that. The speakers I was using were behind me far away from the turntable. Like with pretty much all the Sansui's with the piano black finish I refurbished so far, the plinth was dull. After stripp...

A turntable quite rare here in the UK is fully automatic the last one made by Pioneer in the 80's (if I'm not wrong). Technically it seems to share a lot of components with the PL-707 which was introduced in 1982. In 1985 the PL-3F was positioned as PL-707's successor. It was sold until 1989. The specs are also quite similar. It was Pioneer's TOTL during that 4-year period. I think the reason f...

I used a RP-855 for nearly 20 years before it's second motor failed about 8 years ago. A decent job you've done with the veneer...looks nicer than the original black ash. I upgraded the supplied AT110E cartridge to an AT440ML, which made a worthwhile improvement to SQ. Later I replaced the stock arm with a Rega RB300 which also lifted the table's sonics adding a slightly brighter more detailed sound. I prefered it to my Rega P3 2000 that I'd nicked the RB300 off.
