Taking NJ Transit Route 317 To The Coast (Central NJ is EMPTY!!!!!)

One week when I was at work, my boss asked how one of my weekends went. I don’t remember which weekend we were talking about, but he suggested a beach near the town of Long Branch. I looked at it on a map and saw I needed to take a bus and then a train to get to that particular beach, so I got on the route 317 bus and started filming because I had never been on this particular trip. My Favorite Trip On The Northeast Corridor
มุมมอง 1573 หลายเดือนก่อน
Shot during spring break of this year, the full trip featured in this video was a trip on the Amtrak line known as the Acela. It started in Philadelphia and took me to Boston, making intermediate stops in big northeast cities. At the time I came back from this trip, it was one of my favorites because of a few things. The first thing is that this train was perfectly on time which almost never ha...
STUNNING ride on Amtrak Empire Service

If you watched some of my earlier videos, you might remember when I saw part of the Hudson River from an MTA train in the New York City metro area. That ride was gorgeous in its own right. It turns out however, I can take Amtrak even further, and when I did this, that ride got better the further away I got from the city as hills turned into mountains. This video is the return trip since I was a...
ASTONISHING View of Hudson River Valley From MTA Train in New York City Metro Area
มุมมอง 1634 หลายเดือนก่อน
When I saw that this particular train went along the Hudson River, I knew that when I got on, I would be in for a treat. However, it was more than a treat because of all of the transit rides I have taken throughout the Northeast, this one was by far the most striking. Most of this ride had WIDE open views of the river and surrounding hills, and on top of that, the train took me to a station tha...
A Series of Bus Rides Taken During/After Snow Showers
มุมมอง 2534 หลายเดือนก่อน
Throughout my whole life, snow has always been fun for me. Whether I have made snowmen, had snowball fights, or gone skiing, winter has always been a fun time for me. In this video, I was able to ride mass transportation during and after snowy weather, combining two things I love. In my experience, the buses ran as smoothly as normal as if nothing had even happened. I can’t remember the exact d...

Relaxing Bus Trip on NJ Transit

While this is not my first time riding NJ Transit, I have always been pleasantly surprised about how much of New Jersey is covered in forests. This was a fairly long trip that I took down to a nature preserve filmed this year. Since there was barely any talking on both the to and from trips and most of my ride was either small towns or forests, I found this trip quite pleasing. 0:00: Route 313 ...
A Ride on Amtrak During Autumn

Despite mass transportation being associated with urban areas, such a mode of transportation can still be a way to see a memorable nature phenomenon like the changing of leaves during the fall. This film was snagged on the Keystone Service in October of 2023 and features fall colors sprinkled throughout a mostly green forest, in which the colors get more vibrant and widespread towards the later...
My Favorite Transit Ride in Texas
มุมมอง 474 หลายเดือนก่อน
Texas, where I am originally from, isn’t exactly known for good mass transportation as much as it is known for an extreme lack of it. But it is quite a treat when the small public transportation system in my birthplace finds a way to please me. Filmed in August of 2023, this elegant looking and sounding battery powered bus gave me a sweet finale of a futuristic appearing skyline during a hot, b...

The easiest way from Philadelphia to the beach is not by bus but riding NJ Transits Atlantic City rail line. There are several trains a day from 30th Street station to Atlantic City rail station. They provide shuttle Jitneys to all the boardwalk casinos so it is easy to get to the beach that way. Unfortunatly if you plan to swim I do not know of any places where you can change your cloths or get a quick shower to get the sand off and change cloths to ride back.
I do in fact understand that I could get to the beach a bit faster using public transportation towards Atlantic City instead of what I did but I had done that once before during spring break and I personally found Atlantic City to be very creepy. It’s not that it’s a city and that I feel unsafe in anywhere that is a city, I just found Atlantic City in particular to just feel very sketchy / dicey even though I usually love the big city. Perhaps it is a lot busier when it is summer but when I went in spring break, there was just nobody there and a bunch of neighborhoods looked pretty dystopian, which made the place feel like a ghost town. This is very different from the more vibrant city cores of other bigger cities that I have been to. Because of that, I decided to explore Cape May instead, and it felt much more vibrant and safer than AC.
@@TransitingExTexan2003 You are correct in that Atlantic City is still a city that is somewhat dangerous. In the non summer months there are few tourists so the town is kind of dead except in the casinos. However in the summer AC has a lively boardwalk with many people walking along it even at night. They also have Steel Pier with amusements operating daily in the summer months and plenty of boardwalk shops. I have visited Cape May many times and it does have a more laid back vibe as well as a more year round population with most of the area well kept and safe.
Where were you traveling from and what was your destination?
@@BrianHornak I started at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia and ended up in Cape May using the route 316 bus.
@@TransitingExTexan2003 sweet..how was the ride?
@@BrianHornakI thought it was pretty fun. It is not every day I get to take mass transit to the beach.
Would you please give some narrative about station stops and other things you see. I am planning a trip to DC to ride a train to Moynihan Train Hall. How much was paid for your ticket and how fast is this train going?
Yes, I would be happy to give you some idea of what to expect and when I recommend traveling on this particular train line. In my personal experience, the cost of a ticket on the Acela train varies greatly depending on how early you buy your ticket. In my experience, buying a ticket a few months in advance costed somewhere in the range of 100 to 150 bucks whereas buying it at the last second yielded a cost of about 200 to 300 bucks. If this is too expensive, Amtrak has plenty of other trains for you to take that are less expensive than this one, but are slower and make more stops. If you are thinking of doing this, I recommend buying a ticket well in advance and doing it at a time other than summer because summer in my experience is rough for every mode of transportation I have ridden on. This particular film was shot during spring break if you didn’t see that in my description. The train in theory can go at 150 miles an hour, but can only do so in certain sections of the line because of how old the infrastructure on the northeast corridor is. I don’t know exactly how fast we were going since I didn’t track it on the train, so I recommend seeing the film starting at 6:39 so you could compare it to the cars on the highway. While this film doesn’t cover the section from Washington to Philly, I have been on that particular section so I can tell you what it was like. In my opinion, it’s not the best scenery that this line has to offer since you will be going through and stopping in Baltimore, which has some rough neighborhoods. The scenery north of New York City on the other hand, is much better. Moynihan Train Hall is a pretty new and nice looking station, but it is extremely crowded and can sometimes feel like an airport as opposed to a train station because of how busy it is. I hope that this helped you get an idea on what to anticipate.
Sounds like 713
I realize that my video quality is quite bad in the beginning sections, but it’ll get better as the video goes on.
like~ best , :)
If you want to see my personal favorite part of this film, it is from 2:00 to 2:21. In case I didn’t say in the description, this was shot in 2021.

can I use it to get to pentagon?
This is the WMATA Blue Line train which my dad and I often take to go to the Pentagon on 9/11 day once a year. But, I apparently didn't know the Pentagon building a month before my nineteenth birthday in September of 2017 which was two years ago.

Why was it only going to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport?
Vanool35 some kind of construction or maintenance was going on after the airport. I would have to catch a blue line train to get downtown.
