This is just a basic video showing some of my cars and a brief description of videos to come in the near future.
New here...anything magnatraction is my flavor
I like the show and go type of videos just fine. Show the car, give a back story or history, do some laps and give your opinion. Even if it is a car that I may have, I enjoy hearing another persons perspective on them. Thanks for the video. Merry Christmas.
Thank you so much for letting me know what you guys want more of.

Thank you I will do that!
I can't find that 99 auto world car... Please contact me if you find one. We can trade.
I will keep an eye open for you. But they are tough to find
Great Video!!! Slot Valley Racing sent us!!!!
Slot Valley Racing is fantastic!
Great Video!
Thanks!
I use a green dish scrubby and Isopropanol and I've research it and even googled it and making the track brittle is not a thing. Iso has no effect on track plastic. I'm Dan from Slot Valley racing. Your all subbed up with all 3 my channels. I have a live Monday Night show for the slot car community and would like to have you on as a guest. Wanna talk slot cars with others?
This guy knows what he is saying...lol!
VFW would be great too
I remember the sandpaper part. I've probably used electronics cleaner if needed. Never WD40 though.
Electronics cleaner is great as long as it does not hurt plastic. Some will, most won't. Wd 40 keeps rails free of rust, but you really need to know what you are doing to use it correctly. Most people use way too much.
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot Agreed with you there.
There's my favorite cars 7:24 9:07 Is that a Chevy Nomad 12:59
I have been using those sanding blocks for years. Just slide it on the rails lightly and that’s all it takes. I also have a video on track cleaning and that’s what I do. However I do not use wd40 on my track for a few reasons. Dust likes to stick to wd40 and also makes the track slick. All you really need to do is make sure the top of the rail is rust free.
I don't really use enough WD 40 to cause an issue. It's really all about how much or in this case how little you use. I just like it for its ability to keep the rails in good shape. It's not needed at all to clean the track.
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2otTrue. Like you said don't use something too much or often. Even the wrong grit of sandpaper, or pressure could damage everything.
Great ideas, thank you much for posting this !
Where do you find Auto World cars 16.99?
Hobby Lobby
My Hobby Lobby is 19.99@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot
My Hobby Lobby is 19.99, do you get a discount?@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot
Good video. Totally agreed. Box stock autoworld is perfect to get started and cheap. Anyone with a good circuit will also have an iroc set and controllers. I have an add on cl. Lol
I do like racing modified cars but there is no doubt that from basement slot cars to Formula 1, people give up because of the cost. Auto world cars can be purchased new for 16.99. It keeps people in the game. Thanks for the comment Jimmy-Jets!
Ya know there are even more places than I mentioned that you could try. The fact is people are out there and closer than you think. You just need to get word out. Too many people just think its hopeless, but it's not!
Soldering is tricky sometimes. Never thought about this before. I have used two controller's with 2 power pack's on my big track. The cars were pretty fast with a 2nd controller though. 🤯
Think the AFX I have are newer G-force models
Mega G Plus?
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot Not sure? Think it's a G plus. It's a Porsche 959 from the early 2K's. Wasn't cheap. Still in the unopened package since I bought it then. I can do a Google search for the correct model name of it.
Sounds like a pain of a process. Tape sounds like the worst choice. Some clear decals turn yellow sometimes. I use a wet Q-tip to move the decal from the paper. Unfortunate not using a clearcoat paint choice. Understandable like you said. Although I always clearcoat over model's with decals to prevent them from getting damaged. I'd probably never want to use them or anything else to prevent them from getting damaged.
The tape is better if you are in a hurry, say if you want to use a car right now. Waterslides are better if you want it to look its best because they are thinner and hardly noticeable. The Q tip is interesting, I never tried that although that would be great for not scratching the car. I have uses just about everything, Allen wrench. small screwdriver, pencil, toothpick works well too although a bit small for my hands. Pretty much anything works, the key is lots of water and a little patience. As far as clear coat yes that is the best way if you paint something that it won't hurt the value on the car. But keep in mind some clear coat paints can yellow as well.
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot Yeah true if it's not good clearcoat paint. I'd be afraid of tearing my decals and scratching the paint. That why I always use Qtips. Also the dry side help's removing the extra water & removing any air. I just think the tape one would possibly leave a sticky mess if removed. Also fear it could remove the paint maybe?
They look nice. Think I was confused about the name because of Jonny Lightning Diecast vehicle's. Yeah they get damaged when they flip, get launched or hit.
Yup that is why I made the video. I hate scratched cars. And other things can scratch them too, but those rails are brutal.
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot Agreed. I always worried about mine when they take a high speed crash. Usually when around the corner and fly off the track and into anything else nearby it. I had my good cars I never used. Beaters to use and replace the worn tires and such.
Tan & blue (dark blue in particular) have the well earned reputation of being more delicate than the rest….. something to do with the dyes….. that being the reported case, the most precious of mine in those tones are only let out for the occasional leisurely stroll 😊
Yes this is what they say. Usually though if they don't hit the floor, they should be okay.
An added tip for those not so skilled at soldering is to drill a small hole next to the rail that way you are less likely to melt the track...tk
I'd use something heat resistant to be below to prevent it from accidentally causing it to warp. Also make sure to clean the soldering tip after using.
You can do that but when you are only heating it for 2 seconds it really doesn't have a chance to warp. I didn't even clean the rail well and it still only took 2 to 3 seconds to solder. Cleaning the rail well would have helped a lot but I was really cold out there in my garage and I saw the allen wrench sitting there and I'm like okay I'm gonna make this work lol.
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot I noticed it's really cold there. After soldering, you blew on it to make sure it was connected, looked like your smoking.
@@ShawnStafford-1978 Im in CT.
Great tips Thanks for sharing
Thank you
Hello, this is Joe ralph...I need your help finishing my layout so it looks good like yours
I will contact you and help you.
Awesome
Thank you ROY RONNIE!
OK, here I am... I hope your channel takes off...
It already has with your help. Thank you so much for subscribing to the channel!
You should do a video on how the power gets from the power supply to your car - how the controller works and how the power track works especially if it has a shared common and also having multiple power tracks to separate each lanes power and add taps. Great video also!
I will work on that for you! Thank you for the kind words.
I thought the whole reason for buying a 10 A 30 V power supply was that the cars pull the amps they need and no 4 cars will ever pull more than 10 A. What am I missing here? Thanks
4 cars can easily draw 10 amps. I do not claim to be an electronic genius but that much I can guarantee you.
I have cars that pull over 6 amps.
Great information Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Steve !
Thank you
Keep those slotcar videos coming!! Subbed your channel!
Hey DUDE, I KNOW YOU... LOL I sound like Spicoli ! Thanks for the encouraging words! You are a great guy and an even greater friend because you support your friends! Im going to do some more videos like this one. Stay tuned for more!
That's a great idea Thanks for sharing
It's one that most do not think about but we all want to keep our cars nice so I hope it helps people do that.
Congratulations on your first video. Are they newer? Or from the 80's?
Hey Shawn, The cars? They are from the 70's and 80's
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot Nice! They look mint like new! I remember mine from the 80's, they didn't look as good or detailed. Those are worth alot of money I bet.
@@ShawnStafford-1978 Some are worth more than others. What type of cars do you own mostly?
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot Most of the 80's are long gone. I have some from the 2K's and some unopened newer from Autoworld of Knight Rider KITT and KARR. I remember & wish I still had my Tyco one from the 90's with the steering front wheels to change tracks.
@@StingrayJohnnysSlotCarTi-ob2ot My channel was terminated last month. Everything is gone unfortunately. I've had to start over again which is not fun.
Nice video
