Hi Lea, I wasn't sure how to contact you so I thought I write to you via a youtube comment. My name is Daan and I'm 27 and I currently study fine art in Groningen. I'm in my last year (I graduate in January) and I wrote a thesis called 'art an expression of Self'. It's about my own journey in art and how I found that my personal development as a person went linear to my creative development. And how trough the proces of making I found things back that where lost before. As an attachment to my thesis I'm interviewing artists about their creative proces and If they recognize this finding of parts of them selves back in their creative proces. This is why I write to you. I was wondering if you would be interested to have a conversation about your creative journey. To explain my own proces I made up a dutch word 'stuimelen' it roughly translates too conscious playful stumbling. It's when you put yourself slightly off balance to find new things in a playful manner. I have the sense that we have a lot of the same interests and it would be really interesting to talk to you. I love it! Feels very familiar, but with incredibly professionalized bodies/ movement-vocabularies full of virtuosity. Even if I also like more rough and grounded/ "half-professional" dances/ dancers, it is beautiful to see filigran figures and so much precision! <3
