This is my first time visiting your channel. But I am glad to know more about Tehor Kyorpon Rinpoche and his retreat place. Tehor Kyorpon Rinpoche is not born as a Rinpoche (a reincarnation of a great Lama) but he became a Rinpoche (a precious one) after he practiced what he learned at the monastery. I think the name 'Tehor' refers to two things. One of them is his birth place as mentioned in some of the comments. But other one (the correct one) refers to his Khangtsen or House. Tehor Khangtsen is one of the Khangtsen or a house of Drepung Loseling monastery. Just as there is Songtsen house or Songtsen Khangtsen in TCV and other schools. Kyorpon is like class monitor. 'Kyor'(སྐྱོར་) means 'recite'. 'pon'(དཔོན་) mean the head of or the leader. Thus, the word Kyorpon mean a person who leads the recitation. In a monastery like Drepung, every class need to elect one of their brightest student to lead the recitation of some important part of their philosopical study which the abbot of the monastery used to recite to them on special occasions. The kyorpon also need to take the responsibility of finishing the syllabus of that particular academic year. He needs to make time management for all the classmates to complete debating all the topics of a subject. His classmates and others calls him Kyorpon just like the students at Tibetan schools use to call class or school monitor as Gen dhak lak.
