XJS is my DREAM MACHINE❤❤❤❤❤
That is a beautiful Jaguar
First ride I had in a Jaguar was a Mk 9 it was at night the instruments had green lights the looked fantastic,I was so excited just 10 years old always wanted one 54 years on still not achieved it but hope to.
made in England 🙂🙂🇬🇧🇬🇧🚗🚗
Very lovely car.
I had one of those. I put teles on it from a big Ariel and took the tool box "tank'" off and painted it all yellow. Fitted a Wal Phillips "fuel injector" but over ported it so it would spit piston rings out the exhaust port from time to time. Happy days.
The Armstrong Siddeley was known as the chauffeurs car, because they preferred driving one to the Rolls-Royce in the day
Wrong seats, wrong oil pressure gauge, wrong rear valance and boot lid.
The boot lid must be from a late model TR3. Through 1957, TR3’s didn’t have a handle on the boot lid., and I’m not aware of TR2’s ever having them. My experience is only with US versions, so maybe the change happened much sooner in the UK.
Could you please tell me this name of the colour
I guess we just have to imagine the exterior
I would have liked to have seen the outside too
What a beautiful looking car,the walnut dashboard and the seats look immaculate. They built cars to last back in those days, unlike the BMWs of today.
Or the Mercedes of today - I gave away my 2012 S Class coupe cos it was a sack of immovable sh!t. 88k miles, the electronics were shot and the air suspension had sat on the floor.
My first car, a 1959 A40 in red, so fond memories. Great to see the slot in the front bumper for inserting the starting handle. In those days Austin used a positive earth system for the electrics which meant that the battery terminals corroded - no matter how much vaseline you put on them! As a young student, I remember stalling at the front of traffic lights near Deansgate in the centre of Manchester. Thankfully the Mancunian motorists were quite patient as I got the old starting handle out re-started the engine and drove off. Tell that to the youngsters of today and they won't believe you...😄
Very nice
Fantastic. Doesn't sound too bad. If that was a hot start all good. If a cold start, the oil pressure needs looking at by the new owner. Could just be faulty instrumentation of course.
Nice
you cant show us and not ride it..wth
William Lyons had the most amazing eye for design. He was creating these wonderful cars while the socialist trades unions were destroying the industry.
You can almost tell this design of engine will overheat it just looks to compact
Smooooth!!!
Good car
A well engineered quality car of its day. The concept of the car was well and truly out of date and there was just not the money available to design and - more importantly - to put a more modern car into production.
Most defiately the most lovable small car , in overall, of the 50's/60's - kinda slow/noisy gearbox in low/reverse but such a joy to drive - no guages but a speedometer (not even a heat guage) but NEVER overheating !! - sò reliable, easy and simple to tune service and maintain - solid and strong body and under carriage - cute knee action shocks
Nice Little Car How Much is it
Nice ride then and now
i have same colure same model of my grandfather i want to sell that any good offer.
price plz
So perfect and beautiful.
I’m so glad that I stumbled across this video. What a pleasure it is to see an R Type standard steel saloon looking so correct as per original, and so beautifully maintained. The mud flaps, the stone guards - even the coachlines - are all correct, and that is something rarely seen today. Top marks, and kudos to you.
Amazing!
Dream!
Rhythm!
Magnifique
I used to sell the MGB new and used. I think we were the biggest dealership for them. Such was the demand that we used to go up to the Abingdon factory to pick them up and drive them back. People adored them. They had a character and quality that was hard to beat at the time. The B series twin carb engine suited the car perfectly. Loved them.
รถสวยมากครับ
I think a lot of these A40s were in this colour. Our doctor had one, in this colour.
It looks weird having the front windows with the chrome surround but not the rear. Still a gorgeous car.
I've owned a 1946 2 1/2 Litre saloon for over 20 years and the SS is a VERY different automobile indeed!
Made in Coventry by highly skilled craftsmen.
Pure nostalgic class !
🇬🇧This jaguar remember me "The Avengers" and Princess Diana.
I think these cars were good value for money back in the 30s, but some people were rather rude about them, saying that SS stood for 'soda squirt' !!
Where I live, these "cars" are known as "piss pots".
Bread van/dis
Damn it, we support the criminal in Moscow. Putin can only be defeated if we implement an immediate energy-saving lockdown. No more private trips. Heating only at night and only one room with light and electricity, you can simply set that at the fuse box....Cities could, for example, switch off every second street light and companies could switch off their neon signs. We can initially limit driving to pure business trips and hospital trips, etc...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop driving now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exceptional my cousin Malcolm from Matlock bath had one for the time, taught me to drive a Morris J Van
My older brother came home with one in pretty perfect order in 67'. He'd just paid £35 for it.. A year or two later he bought a Princess Vanden Plas R for £300. Our main transport at the time was a Bedford van...We could actually afford to go somewhere in that. Ta.
A beautiful British Car!
Are those leather seats ? Is that a Bentley or a Rolls ?
Can't you read? It's an Armstrong Siddeley, ffs! Nothing to do with Bentley or Rolls-Royce (although in the early '60s, after they'd ceased making cars, the company was sold to RR, who weren't interested in the car section of the business, just the aero part).
A beautiful piece of British engineering 👍🏻🇬🇧
