Waverunners on the Fox River Spring 2024
มุมมอง 843 หลายเดือนก่อน
Got out with my brother on the Fox River. We launched from Big Bend, WI. Unfortunately, my camera was on time lapse, so with editing, I made it more tolerable to watch. The water levels are always high in the spring, and it's the only time of the year you can go all the way to Waukesha. I forgot to charge the camera too. #bigfail on my part.

Hatfield-McCoy Trail 40 (black trail) (most difficult)

Took some guys on Dual Sports on a "most difficult" rated trail. They did fine. We had a great ride. This is just trail 40. The bikes were 2 KTM 690s, 1 Royal Enfield Himalayan 400, and my CRF450X.
Hatfield 2020 - Devil Anse Trail System

Devil Anse trail system, we stayed in Gilbert at the Devil Anse Trailhouse (Eddie's Place). It was a really nice place, not too far from the trail. We met some great people here. The nicknames I assigned to my new friends are not necessarily their nicknames, but it's what I gae them.

We needed at least one more ride this year. We had perfect weather and the trails were in really good shape. Not too many people out there, though we saw quite a few. The bikes ran great, no real issues at all. We used radios for the first time in all our years of riding, and it was pretty cool.

Kyle (Mosquito) and I (Trailboss) wen't to the island to see what it was all about. I wish they had a better trail MAP system. We had a really hard time trying to get anywhere on the trail system. The terrain was challenging in some spots, but mostly not too difficult.

Dude! I went to oreillys today after watching your video. It was STUCK I beat the tar out of it. Was ready to snap! Then I did your deal. I took my time, took about an hour to get 10 full threads. Ran that 1/2-13 bolt in with 4-5 sockets holding it and sure enough she started easing out. Got it out perfect. Thanks SO MUCH!

I am so glad it worked. I don't have much "spare" money, so I always need to come up with creative ways to get things done. This worked really well for me too. I cleaned up my bolt really well, and now I take it out every year and re-grease it. CHEERS!

What size is the tap you used m13 ? Also do I then need a long 13mm bolt

    • @trailbossvideochannel272

It's an SAE tap 1/2 x13 (whatever that means). I got it at O-Reillys Auto parts store for cheap.

  • @Turtle-RR
    @Turtle-RR 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Did you have a difficult time getting the tap to start initially? I'm not sure if I need to drill the inside of bolt larger. Working on a 2011 yz250f. Bought tap and hardware you recommend.

I've road that trail a few times nice trail I'm so lucky to live in Logan all my life riding theses trails back in the 80s it's sad for us locals having to pay to ride mountains in your home town I mean I can afford to help out in our town love this place we ride mostly outlaw trails there are so many other trails in this town we like to have a cold brew every now and then but we respect the trail systems for sure have to its 100 dollars a beer get caught by rangers and they are out just know that

Holy shit man thank you so much I’m gonna have to try this tomorrow. After busting my knuckles about 10 times and spending like 5 hours trying to beat it out using a brass punch and hammer I was ready to give up lol.

When the 20 ton press doesn’t move it, Cutting it is the only way. I used a harbor freight air hacksaw. Zip tie trigger open and prop it up where it’s resting on the exposed bolt. Let it eat for 15 minutes. It cut straight and only damage the engine case a little. I thought steel frame Honda’s and stuck swing arm bolts would be my legacy....😂😂. Grease that bolt And linkage 2 twice a year for weekend riders.

Mine stripped out the threads. Luckily a friend had a hydraulic press and that solved the problem. Weirdly, a few turns of the bolt in emery paper and some grease made everything fit back together very smoothly. Corrosion, huh!

Dan, no wonder I was cussing you when I was going down that hill on my Himalayan! I didn't know that was a black trail. I never looked at the maps, I let you guys lead the way so I didn't know it was black until I saw this video. Ha Ha. I am glad I did it though. For the Himalayans being heavy with limited travel suspension, I think the bike did pretty good.

I don't understand what you mean. Did my method not work? Did you use any kind of rust breaker like PB-Blaster? I have heard of some people needing to CUT the bolt to get it out. I hope you don't have to do that.
