If you plan to take on this hike, make sure you go early in the day to avoid the heat, have well-rested legs, and food and water to keep you fueled. This hike has been on my bucket list since moving to San Diego. I actually have tried completing in three others times and did not finish due to 1. the elements and 2. being underprepared.
This time we finished under five hours! If you're in the area and are looking for a challenging but rewarding hike, I highly recommend El Capitan.
