Replacing Culverts Part 1
After a wet winter and spring, the road to my off grid lot has been washed out. Time to replace them using the new XCMG 75. The culvert is upgrading from a 12 inches to 24 inches to handle the waterflow and to reduce plugging. The previous culvert had collapsed in the center causing almost a complete obstruction.

As we begin to dream about living off grid, it takes a lot of work to get there. Our road will provide the way in and out and we are taking the time to ensure any washouts are repaired and ditching is completed. Here is a short video of a small section of road we are working to repair.

This is my first attempt at an intro video welcoming you to our channel. My wife and I will spend the next few years preparing our house lot to build a home completely off grid. We have a lot to learn and a long way to go.
XCMG XE75U First Impression

We recently purchased an XCMG XE75U excavator to work around our farm. In addition, we will be clearing land to begin an off-grid home build. Given XCMG is a very new brand to the USA, I provide my initial impression in the first 10 minutes of use. The conditions are very wet. Please keep in mind we are hobby farmers and not full-time machine operators.

It is 34 degrees in Maine this morning and we wanted our ducks to enjoy some swimming. Everything else is frozen solid.

As we begin our off grid journey, we have a few acres harvested to clear the way for our homestead. Additionally, we have other portions of the property selectively cut to manage our woodlot well into the future. This is a short clip of the logging operation in action!

Hard up ! Thats brush you draggin , maine was cut hard in the 70s and 80s very little left if any , i was there choppin , in wytopitlock me.
