I bet med school is really hard and a lot of work and everyone who works hard for their own and their patients future is very admirable to me but other majors and even life outside of uni is tough too??? I get that when youre so deep into academic bs everything outside of your own stress can feel minor to some people and listening to people having fun can be infuriating when you cant even take a break to make yourself a pack of instant ramen but I agree with the other comments that this gives off major "I have it wayyyy harder than you guys" energy (Although some of the other comments sound way to hurtful for my liking and what I think is actually fair criticism) People who "didnt choose medicine" have a bs amount of work, study material and stress in their lifes and them making time for their stuff and deciding that their mental and physical health need attention too doesnt mean they dont have struggles. In fact even a lot of med students indulge openly or secretly to manage the pressure/stress and a whole lot of other stressors. Not to mention the people that struggle to show that theyre having a hard time and want to appear like thats their current lowest even though its way deeper. Another angle you might not have viewed this behaviour from is that they might miss you and want to connect with you again through face timing, perhaps even hoping to distract you and take your mind off of it with "silly things" that wont stress you out further to take care of you. Then again maybe their troubles are just genuinely bothering them- who knows Ofc your frustration is not invalidaded by good intentions and perhaps a misconception over the "ranking of severity" but that doesnt make your little thesis true and you got to find healthier ways to cope than posting passive aggressive videos that put down "your friends" and their problems beneath yours. If this was my friend and I saw this video it'd make me feel sad and uncared for You're in a very high stress position rn which makes it hard to function as you normally would like to, both morally and physically, so I dont think youre overall a bad person but be careful that you dont slip into a victim mentality and end up putting yourself on a pedestal bc of your academic success. The worth of you and the people around you is not determined by your achievements and comparison and neither are times of peril.
