Managed to "save" an old CT110 from the rubbish tip. This video is of the initial tear down and inspection of the engine. Engine was destined to be cut up, due to looking worse for wear being left to the elements for many years. Finally finished the cut-away of the Suzuki K10. I'm glad I started on a 2 stroke engine with a lot less moving parts. Now it's completed, it goes straight to the "Pool Room"!

Part 1 of the engine cut away of our little Suzuki K10 - 2 stroke engine. As all cutting is done by hand using power and air tools, the edges will need to be sanded and a lot of cleaning of surfaces after all parts are finished.

Engine dismantled. Covers and cases cleaning and polishing. Next process is to wash all internal parts ready for "dry" assembly to mark out which areas to cut for the displaying of the internal workings. A lot of thought going into it as we cannot make any mistakes. New bearings going in, purely for show on crank shaft. Maybe new piston if we can find one.

Not really a restoration, more a preservation. Some new parts added due to age and wear, but mostly original.

From our "Barn Find" we saved the engine for our next project. Our long term plan is to create a "cut-away" display engine. First step is to free piston from barrel. Then complete tear down, clean, polish and start cutting up engine covers. Stay tuned, it could end in disaster!

We picked up 2 "Barn Finds" to get the motors and a couple of parts for stock. One is a Suzuki "Bearcat" I believe. 80cc and was sold in Australia as a farm bike. The other is a 1980 Honda CT110 postie bike. Both engines are past their used by date, but we have plans the dissect them into cut away displays. Our first attempt at such an undertaking. Stay tuned for further updates.

The twin carby set-up worked to a point in the higher rev range but would not run at low revs. Refitted original carbies with reduced sized main jet in main carby. This ran smoother but still issues of running rich, perhaps causing plug to foul up which in-turn causes cut out of engine at idle?

Trouble with original carburetors which led me to try a dual carby arrangement. Yet to try it on the road as we need to tune a bit.

Finally finished Honda CT 110 Postie Bike. Test ride today and all went well.

On the home straight with this little fix up. Fitted new forks seals, chain & sprockets, replaced headlight socket, new globes, checked wheel bearings.

An update of our CT110 preservation build. Nothing fancy about this build. Simply make it usable and function as it should. Fitting new parts where needed for safety reasons is a must though.
