To be honest, I don't remember. :( I'm not sure why I was given 5 turns. I agree that it is likely impossible to do in 3 turns. I should probably re-watch the stream and see what I actually did. I just know I made lots of mistakes while playing this game.

I'm becoming fond of small task groups... Just to hunt down enemy ships.

I didn't realize that. But it's ok if the Panama Canal never opens. Mostly I'm trying to block access to the Caribbean, where I will focus my early game conquests.

I was planning to save that for a larger invasion ship, later on in the game.

Good morning Slav. Do you like the idea of me posting short highlight videos from my stream? It's something I'm experimenting with, to record some short videos during the live stream and posting them as a separate highlight video. Tell me what you think. I'm still figuring out the best way to do it.

I know you've been busy. I missed hanging with you on Discord. I saw Stealth17's video about the Naval Arms Race mod. I definitely want to play Greece (since I'm Greek and Stealth says it will be impossibly hard). I'm still thinking of playing Spain on Legendary first, and then doing Greece after that. It will take me a few more days to finish the map clear with Austria, so I'll make up my mind during that time. Stealth also says the Arms Race mod slows down the loading screen which is already a big problem for streams. So I may wait a bit to try Greece... I'll keep everyone posted.

Good to know! Hopefully I can finish clearing the map before 1965... So many ships to sink :O

That's good to know. I was originally planning to just conquer Europe and Africa, but our Chilean friend is bloodthirsty and convinced me to fight the whole world. Mostly I think he just wants to see his super battleships get into a real fight finally. I guess I'll do it. :P

I find life is a lot less confusing if you don't think about the details too much. I'm just glad they didn't measure velocity in Angstroms Per NanoSecond... or something really obscure that would require a lot of math. :P

I actually don't pay attention to the missions much. I just look for opportunities to sink their ships. Though Convoy missions tend to be my favorite.

France is really tough. I should have taken them out in the early game.

It is super good and easy to make! I eat a lot of bacon... and steak and chicken... Air fryer was the best Xmas gift ever!

My friend gave me a shotgun that fires salt. So I just wait for the fly to land on my monitor and then I blast it. Doesn't always kill the fly but at least it doesn't damage the monitor.

Yea. I think I recall that video and remembered that it was a really lucky shot, but I didn't remember the details.

I usually go with minimal crew since I don't tend to lose crew, and retreat my ships if they start taking too much damage.

I hate getting Zerged... I figure other people would hate getting Zerged too. Better to give the Zerg than to receive the Zerg. :P

28 knots is a good goal for most ships. Though in later game I will want them to go 32. And even faster for my hunting ships, which need to go 2-3 knots faster than whatever they are meant to hunt down.

Yea. Making awesome ships takes a lot of work. But it is soooo worth it when they wreck faces :)

I'm coming to realize that the easiest way to increase GDP is to conquer enemy territory. I may try a more aggressive approach during my next campaign.

One of my contract programmers who was living in Ukraine at the time introduced me to Earl Grey and I absolutely fell in love with it.

CL's are my favorite class of ship. Or small fast CA's, but those are harder to build until later in the game. Not sure what other people prefer. Seems like a lot of people are used to really big BB's doing all the work. Seems too expensive on high difficulty campaigns.

These are surprisingly good ships, despite being so old.

Lack of money and shipyard space means I don't upgrade as often as I want to.

I may try more torpedo boats when I try a Spanish Legendary Campaign next.

I wonder if they have the same conversation regarding Houthi Drones these days. :P

HAHAHA. And it doesn't help when my destroyers decide to go out of their way to find torpedoes to crash in to. That really gets my temper going :P

Not sure what the percentage is. I try to avoid fighting enemies who have lots of torpedoes if there are storms, rain, or foggy weather. Night time is bad too unless it is very clear. Basically I avoid fighting in conditions that make it harder for me to dodge torpedoes, or force me to fight enemy ships at close range. My advantage generally is in speed and range, but i'm not always as advanced in the other tech areas.

@@bobtheorc Brother Munro set storms to 1% in DIP, he's the one who said 5% is the vanilla game setting. Even at 1% it still feels like it happens way to often.

Every loss of a ship is extra painful on Legendary Difficulty. So if I don't have an advantage in a battle, I usually "bravely" run away. I'll use torpedoes later on when they become more reliable and longer range though. I just don't expect great things from torpedoes due to the AI's awesome doge ability.
