i do IHSA for my school as well and finding my seat used to be so difficult! something that helped me a lot was doing lots of no stirrup work at the canter and trot! trying to relax your body in the moment and go with the horses rhythm is also helpful rather than trying to focus on your equitation, I find that the times I'm less focused on my position and more focused on riding the horse, I place better! The biggest advice my coach gave my team for IHSA is that the judge wants to see you ride the horse, don't try to get the horse to adjust to you! Good luck at your future shows! Great job!

I always used to get so jealous of everyone who could school before showing. My pony was quite literally a brat, absolutely loved her to death but yes a brat she was lol. I learned the hard way if I schooled in the morning she would get pissed off by the time we did our division and just get faster and faster. I would school the night before but I allowed a little girl at my barn to do leadline with her in the morning and that was it I would just get on and go. Funny enough she was the most LAZY pony at home. I have been out of riding many years now but now my 12 year old daughter rides. She started about 2 years ago and I cant wait for her to start showing! I miss riding but its fun to be around it as a "horse mom". Love your vlogs! Its nice to watch and remember my pony days :)
