I come from a small Canadian island in the North Atlantic Ocean, called Cape Breton Island. Over 15 years ago I followed my heart and moved to the other side of the world. I now live happily with my wife here in beautiful Taiwan. I have seen and done so many things I never thought I would. This unpredictable thing called life is continuously changing, but one thing will forever stay the same...my love of nature and wildlife. I have also been teaching English for well...those 15+ years. That has been an adventure in itself.

A few nesting pairs of Taiwan Barbets have taken up residence in the park in the past year or so. We usually only see them in the mountains when hiking.

Yeah, I came to the conclusion it must have been someone's abandoned pet. There are many species of snakes here in Taiwan, but not corn snakes. Many pets get left at this park. Mostly cats, some dogs, geese, ducks, and fish. I also saw an iguana in a tree here. (also not native to Taiwan)

The way these cretures observe you and react to you is reminiscent mammals and birds. There's a feeling of contact, which is different from the machine-like behaviors of other insects.

Thank you D-rok for the comment and the subscribe. I must be honest with you though, I only started uploading videos to this account again today. It is easier for me to show my students my videos through TH-cam,than trying to find them on my Facebook account. I do plan on uploading videos of things I see on my travels through Taiwan and Asia more frequently though. Your channel is cool also. I like anything with exploring new or hidden places, keep up the good work. I have subscribed :)
